Another book to buy and read! I have, I believe, every book written by Hill. Glad to know of your review.

Having to wait week by week for each lecture; just too hard! What an interesting find.

Wish I was in Philly, but will celebrate at home as it will be my 70th birthday tomorrow as is the Bard’s. Currently reading your wonderful book.

John, these Judt gems are very relevant today as one hears on TV, social media, and Youtube, the multitude of pundits who pronounce but cannot argue; who declare without substance. Tony Judt has been a great source of wisdom for me over the years; I turn to his work so often.

Yes, it is a great learning experience and so well written. I didn’t care for his brief dismissal of Dawn of Everything (a major work quickly dealt with in a couple of sentences and the castigating “doorstop” comment). Graeber/Wengrow deserve better!

I also heard/read that the Vatican whitewashed the interiors of Apostolic Palace in response. Raphael’s School of Athens is gone. Oh well…

Looking forward to reading Andrew Hui’s The Study: The Inner Life of Renaissance Libraries (which I see among the menagerie positioned on the table!).

Regarding Symphony 12: wear headphones while listening; the percussionists love their job and show it in the 12th.
