Such tankies talk as if Donald Trump were the first person to propose "peace" in Ukraine. But the Ukrainian government has long promoted a peace plan of its own. Unlike Trump's proposals, it calls for a just peace, not surrender to the invading power. war.ukraine.ua/faq/zelensky...

All of which would attract ex- Tories, "red wall" & gammons, not push them back to cons or away to Reform.

Blimey, our right wing media lets conservatives get away with colossal failure for 14 years... Apart from new runways, what is it that Starmer has screwed up so badly?

Hugely helped by our right wing media & endless attacks from BBC etc

Yup. Imagine if AMOC collapsed & UK temp drops by 15° quickly, the chaos & death rate would be unimaginable. Total crop, transport, energy communications failure. Millions of Brits, if they could get there, knocking on our EU neighbours' doors as refugees...

Many countries are on brink of catastrophic water shortages e.g. California & unless UK hurries up rebuilding & expanding our water system we will be too, so no you can't go consuming millions of gallons of fresh water so rich people can travel more conveniently

I know what you mean, but it's not a matter of net positive it's about trying to reduce net-catastrophic. Every ton of carbon not put into our atmosphere, no matter who or where it's done, is way better than continuing to make it worse & risk further irreversible eco/climate damage + Bns deaths

Mate I said sea water. You said any water.

I would think that politicians not understanding science is far more worrying

.. showing leadership, displaying that it can be economically beneficial, allowing our products / IT / services to undercut oil powered ones due to v cheap energy + morally we owe it to the planet + it doesn't matter where carbon reductions come from they are all valid + uk behind other countries

Fresh water shortages are only going to get worse & its much more efficient & cost effective per passenger to use trains

"donation-effect" from oil invested groups? like Black Rock

I think airport expansion is about international flights. & Needs to be hydrogen from sea water? Per person costs & environmentally probably better to invest in public transport
comment in response to post
If that is legisled for it would be good but ...
comment in response to post
That'll be very interesting 👍
comment in response to post
But where is the hydrogen going to come from in sufficient quantities?
comment in response to post
& I'm sure that it'll be widely reported as a break moment by the UK right wing media

Our media is run by & for anti tax anti socialist, right wing rich people , so a constant drip drip of labour hate. Mind you some of their policies...

What is net zero avaition?
comment in response to post
Yup. & The hilarious "justification" that it will reduce emissions b/c planes won't have to queue, or we will have some magical kind of green fuel!

Yes Lots of people seem to treat it the same way as "in polite company one must never talk about politics religion or money" designed by rich ppl who don't want to I'm sure. Mustn't let the plebs start talking about things, they might work it out & get angry.. Keep talking about Climate breakdown
