The weird, often whitewashed way the civil rights movement is taught (or not taught) seemed to convince a lot of people that nonviolence was met with nonviolence, instead of you know, dogs, hoses, beatings, death, etc

This is good information if you decide to participate in the protests happening around the nation. Additionally: Wear a bicycle or skateboarding helmet, bring an umbrella, wear a painters gas mask around your neck just in case, sharpie a lawyers number on your arm in case of arrest.

Two LA photojournalists have been shot with tear gas canisters by DHS HSI, including @acatwithnews.bsky.social who was directly targeted by HSI and struck in the head. Sean is en route to the ER with obvious facial injuries. He was conscious and talking when he left the scene.
