During the MSNBC town hall — "100 Days of Trump: Forced Out Federal Workers" — @jacobsoboroff.bsky.social reports from West Virginia, where funding for health care screening for "black lung" in coal miners has been cut by DOGE and protections for miners may be in jeopardy.

Pope Francis called President Trump’s family separation policy “cruelty of the highest form” www.americamagazine.org/politics-soc...

let’s go @marcusj319.bsky.social!

I am currently reading (listening to) Separated: Inside an American Tragedy by Jacob Soboroff, which chronicles the family separation policy at the border during Trump’s first term. 1) It is eerie how closely things at that time mirror what’s going on now and 2) At that time, protests worked.

Seeing Sec. Noem in that El Salvador prison reminds me of when in 2018 DHS led us through the epicenter of family separations to, as I told @errolmorris.bsky.social in SEPARATED, terrify families considering seeking asylum in the U.S. by showing them what Trump would do to them if they tried.
