It’s weird how conservatives have rose colored glasses when it comes to the 80s. I pulled up government spending charts and tax data proving increased taxes + spending during that time and a coworker still tried to deny it.

I tried Harry's years ago when they were still exclusively advertising on podcasts. Those things are only marginally better than a BIC disposable. I feel confident in saying that as someone who used to work in food processing and was once made to shave my stubble with a BIC and no shaving-cream.

It's embarrassing how much time I have to spend setting up the new Apple certificate in all the right places when it comes through.
Doubly-hard when you're on an Enterprise Apple Developer account and don't have permissions to most of it.

I’ll keep am eye out for that, but it looks like 3.x interops with reanimated well

fully agree, but it's worth pointing out that React Native is a *huge* leap towards beginner-friendly from fully native on either iOS or Android.
I went from web to Xamarin.iOS and was giddy when we started our switch to React Native using the excuse of Android support.

The same thing happens with other apps that open the browser for whatever reason, such as for authentication. It's really disorienting when it happens.

💯
MBA: We want our customer to be able to take a picture of a product on their shelf and we'll search for it in our app.
Me: There is no scenario where that saves time.
MBA: But our customers don't like our search.
Me: I know. Our search sucks. Please let me fix it.
MBA: No I want to take pics

Particularly when initializing the state with props from a component - it really doesn't make sense to me why wrapping the entire thing with Context is necessary when it's a single component.

The most shocking thing to me is that, on this side, nobody is willing to say "nah, fuck off" and just ignore him.
I always assumed that dictatorships started with violent military action. It seems like this one is progressing because everyone thinks somebody *else* will stop him.

Thank *you*. Beyond the course, your blog/GH posts are a gold mine of valuable and practical guidelines for RQ. Every time I run into something I didn’t expect, you not only have a blog post, but it also shows that careful consideration went into making it work that way.
You deserve so much praise.

Unless it doesn’t and “opinionated” is just an excuse to not allow any changes to things that make no sense.

Generally, being “opinionated” isn’t an excuse for having bad opinions.

It’s not “just good enough” though. It’s infuriating when you get one of those on a work device where you’re not allowed to access personal email.
It’s not more secure. It’s just lazy. So many services are available to handle authentication for your app these days. There’s no excuse for it.

100%. My boss struggles with finding messages and I keep telling him it’s because we all communicate in individual chats instead of channels, so nobody switches to that tab

That’s not to say that no apps need them. But, unless you have a large number of devs in a single repo and floating targets for a release, you’re just creating overhead.
