I'd suggest finding the movie at a library, so you can watch it without giving him any money. I've resorted to similar things for artists I disagree with as people.
If you want the gist without the actor, this was actually based on a French film of the same name from 1967 starring Louis de Funès.

Abuelita from Coco and Abuela Madrigal from Encanto are cut from the same cloth. They're both hyper protective of their families, and that overprotective nature causes Miguel and Mirabel to act against them as a major plot point.
It's crazy to praise the former while shunning the latter.
