It's kind've weird how little we've see teased for Sumner Games Fest this year, right? Normally we'd have a few companies confirming they were showing a new look at this that or the other, but I've not really come across any of that this time. Is it just me? Is this going to be a low key event?

Another one in the bag for 2025, Assassins Creed Shadows has been completed. Overall the game is great, especially when it comes to the stealth gameplay, which carries the game hard - but like most modern AC it is super bloated and the story peters out and ends on frustrating wet fart. ⭐⭐⭐/5

I think the Assassins Creed team needs some sort of "Head of anti-bloat and pacing" position - Shadows has been great but I've been ready for it to end for hours now yet I've just hit what feels an "Start Act 3" moment in the story. They would be twice as impactful if they were just half as long.

Watching the Indie Quest 2025 Showcase live currently, which is good fun, but what I'm enjoying the most is how positive the live chat is - I literally never look at chats during big showcases because they are filled with nothing negativity, but this is so refreshing.

Just rolled credits on Doom The Dark Ages - I didn't gel super well with the acrobatic feeling Doom Eternal if I'm honest, but I found Dark Ages' more grounded gameplay much more appealing, if a bit grindy. I think if it had been a little shorter it would be a ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 - but as is it lands at ⭐⭐⭐/5
