I’ve fallen short of my personal goals on this project, but a dozen more letters going in the mail today as part of my personal campaign to end sidewalk parking.

"Mayor Adams Temporarily co-names Streets" Unless I'm mistaken the authority for co-naming rests with City Council, not Mayor Adams. intro.nyc?q=Naming+tho...

As a rabidly superstitious sports fan, I am appalled by this. This is the kind of thing you do for the day of the Championship Parade, not Game One of the semifinals.

By omitting protected cycling infrastructure to keep cyclists safe - in violation of NYC Law - this is not a "world-class" project.

Ok, so this will be pretty infuriating. Back on 3/16 driver got two tickets - One for covered license plate (blue tape on front + back plate) and a second for misuse of a valid NYPD parking permit. 1492936900 HEARING HELD-NOT GUILTY 1498402215 HEARING HELD-NOT GUILTY

good on @hellgatenyc.com for continuing to shine light on two CCRB appointees canceling reams of *substantiated* CCRB investigations hellgatenyc.com/ccrb-members...

I’ve been a WorkCycles fan for years, but you should know my first bike was a Xtracycle so I could explore the city with two kids on the back.

In my head I think of Queens as the “sidewalk parking” capital of the world. (Sorry to all my Queens followers).

The federal government is negligent, but @agounardes.bsky.social has a bill to use state data to quantify vehicle design with a pedestrian safety rating. S1675 We should have passed this when first introduced in Feb 2020, but it still has value now.

Happy biking out there today. I was sweating buckets by the time I got home, but 52°F was too cold for shorts and a t-shirt even though I did it anyway on my first ride out.

Hey @nyc-dot.bsky.social @nickbenson.com when will you remove your barriers from the 10th Ave Bike lane? It’s been almost a year.

"Chuck Schumer on Monday introduced a bill that would prevent any foreign aircraft from being used as Air Force One" The plane is a bribe that is already plainly illegal to accept - focusing on adding a new law just legitimizes breaking the existing ones.

If NYPD says they “took action” (as opposed to issuing a summons) do you believe they did anything? 311-22978695

We are testifying at tonight's Council Charter Commission about increasing independence of the Conflicts of Interest Board and Department of Investigation, and strenghtening penalities and disclosures for Independent Expenditure committees. Read it here:

Went for a bike ride. Saw some illegal 53’, saw plenty of cars on sidewalks. Just a total reminder that no one in charge of enforcement even tries to find these issues.

Occasionally I take my bike on field trips.

Not just cross-endorsing, actively campaigning for Speaker Adams. WOW. I still consider Speaker Adams a parking lot so she can warm my 5th rank choice voting slot, but I sure as hell am putting her above Cuomo.

My politics in a headline:

Cyclists and pedestrians have exactly 6 seconds of dedicated signal time to safely cross this intersection, unless an out of state driver thinks a solid red arrow doesn’t apply to them. So little time, I couldn’t even yell about the red light because it already started flashing. 🤦🏻‍♂️

I’ll tell you one thing, the bike lane markings on Central Park East Drive heading off towards Bethesda Fountain are way too narrow. Now way this 2-way should be less than 6’ each way.

I feel like every transit advocate has a photo like this. You see a street stripped of asphalt pavement, and there underneath is the hundred year old cobblestone street. This is a “bridge reconstruction” on 50th st above the west side train tracks.

Standoff with a suit in a tinted SUV from Connecticut in a bike lane. (Part 1 of 2)
