Trying to make a life-altering decision during a time of internal reassembly is challenging to say the least.
Especially if that loss challenges your identity.
This is compounded if there are multiple losses.

Loss reactivates old coping strategies. The nervous system seeks stability or escape—anything that makes the ache dull. Maybe that looks like staying in a job you hate.
Grief confuses momentum. Hard to know if you’re choosing something because you want it or because you want out.

You are both the most handsome and the best partner a person could ask for.

By the way, leaving abusive or controlling relationships can absolutely shift the way that you look at life events: not living in a heighten state of nervous system activation, getting some agency back, only feeling my emotions means change is no longer destabilizing.

This decision is bad enough on the merits. But it also gives the government relief in a case in which it defied the district court at least *twice.* That’s quite a message to send to the government with respect to the costs of its litigation behavior in other cases—or the complete lack thereof.

Republican politicians love to talk about how important meritocracy is, but when they hire it's all about obedience.

Second, there were no legal options. There were however ethical ones.
Sometimes we are given choice we don’t like. But the doctors could’ve squared the circle at any time by choosing something else. They just didn’t like the potential consequences.

What the fuck kind of standard of care is this?
This hospital should be sued into oblivion.

Let yourself feel when you can. It’s okay to take breaks. To laugh. To focus on other parts of life. To rest.
Good lord please rest.
When you’re ready to return to it — even if just for a minute — they will still be there, too.
My dog will still be there, too.

That’s not denial. That’s self-protection. It’s your heart saying, “not right now”.
There’s no failure in grief— and it’s okay to pace yourself.
Let the sorrow come in manageable waves, not all at once.
But do let them come.

And enforcement is like basically nonexistent.
Congress could fix that part at least.

Context fucking matters.
In practice, presidents often evade or ignore the War Powers Resolution. Congress rarely enforces it due to political bullshit. Like what we are experiencing now.
