feeling that 10-hr round trip drive today, tho 😅 my brother, Eric, gifted me his manuscript about his teen years, & it’s in French; now i have a fun project to practice translation on! he also wrote a gorgeous check graphic novel about the curse of tutankhamen & had it illustrated by a colleague.

we’d planned to stay over but decided to get home instead. driving from pittsburgh to philly and back in one day isn’t too bad but not sth i’d do again any time soon lol

I input the dimensions in the alt text, too! i had to measure it because i couldn’t believe it, either 😂

i haven’t either! it’s in full shade and pushing up through other tall things, so i’m guessing it’s very happy in that spot!

right? i missed the crawl b/c of being away some of that week, but i loved that they got up and running and partnering up with the other bookstores immediately and making a cool thing happen

it’s a truly fantastic tree. i’d never seen one before we moved here! gorgeous all year, even in the winter b/c they branch out in cool lines as they grow and the Braiding Sweetgrass author wrote a great book about them last year: www.simonandschuster.com/books/The-Se...

Zorro birds! we had a whole flock tonight! but too early for the serviceberries. last year this time they were raiding the rainier cherries but the tree has 1/5 of what we had last year so they’re dumpster diving the serviceberry lol

i love jiji but i’m always sad when he becomes a true cat at the end even though i suppose that’s better for _him_ my black cat is very similar and “talks” at/to me constantly, & is the kind of cat that i could probs take on a hike or a walk thru a city, but i haven’t chanced it yet lol

precip rate with this particular storm cell is 10.1”/hour, and it is…not disappointing lol

i’m unsure they’ll love it, lol, but they’re getting more used to us every day. mama g is limping as if she has a sprain but seems to be improving? no idea what she got into to get that kind of injury. but she still grooms the babies & they all live together still

when i first got with my ex partner and we watched this, he was like, “it’s…you. like, down to the cutoffs and tank top and and bare feet, and big ponytail. climbing on everything climbable. even the backpack of art supplies. holy shit” 😂

it’s going to make 5 cats , 1 dog, and three humans very very happy for them to have more space and more enrichment!
