Dealing with WINZ can be really hard. I am, however, happy to report that I just had a very good & helpful phone appointment with a case manager.

Waiting for an asd assessment appt for my son and reading the scary things RFK Jr is coming out with in the US is very upsetting. I hope we don’t see the same rhetoric here but I’m not confident we won’t.

Off to see A Minecraft Movie with my son and a few hundred others from his school.

Why is 15% the magic number for proportion of workforce to lay off? Nat et al used it as a target for public service reduction now echoed under drumpf. #NZPol

It’s boob squashing day! Uncomfortable as anything but necessary to have regular breast checks.

The current, tired arguments blaming parents for not being able to afford “marmite sandwiches and a piece of fruit” for their children’s lunches piss me off. Poverty is not a choice. It is never a choice. It just happens for a million reasons and it’s really hard to get out of.

Today’s seasonal fruit warning comes to you from my (now) very clean dryer… Always check wet linen for purple peaches before putting them on to dry.

While campaigning Luxon kept going on about how NZ needs to be ambitious. Increasing mining and tourist numbers doesn't exactly scream ambition. #nzpol

I escaped reality and played a lot of minecraft this afternoon. Unfortunately I forgot to turn off various app alerts so it wasn't complete blissful ignorance.

Jfc Brown replacing Reti? #nzpol

THIS. Proposed cuts would literally reduce our central maternity workforce from six (used to be *15*) to ONE. 60000 births a year, desperate shortages in clinical staff who are having to pick up loads of admin and quality “back room” work. One person can’t be the hub of the wheel.

Submission on the treaty principles bill done. I'd been putting it off as I thought it would be really difficult but it was super easy. Now to do the rest

www.rnz.co.nz/news/politic... It's almost as if it's a really hard problem to solve and there is a reason why remediation and rectification for employees who do not work 9-5 jobs takes a looong time and costs a lot!

If the new ferries end up being rail enabled, will some of the savings come from the work already done to the terminals under the iRex programme? #nzpol

2 months into greyhound ownership and can confirm they are big noodle heads. The decision to adopt was made in record time and it is one of the best I've made. She has transformed our lives for the better (cat disagrees). #greyhound

Neighbour is having hip replaced after 12+ mth wait to be seen to confirm if he can go on the surgical waiting list. Time betw that appt & surgery a matter of weeks. Great outcome! But is the pre-waiting list waiting list data being reported? Better health outcomes or just creative accounting?

In other news we're waiting for the results of my son's whooping cough swab. Great time to be cutting Public Health resources.

I fear that there is a lack of true understanding of how complex the raft of systems de applications are in health. Replacing, patching, upgrading, applying consistent data definitions, 'fixing' data, etc is a massively complex and costly process that takes time and people. No matter who is in govt

Enjoying discovering new and wonderful bird app evacuees.

Omg it is so much easier to give a dog worm pills than a cat. Pass them the pill and they go "Treat for me? Thank you!!" the cat, meanwhile, is judging the dog for being a pushover and not trying to take my arm off.

The new school lunch scheme is a perfect example of "just because you can, doesn't mean you should"

Want to have a good Labour Day? You could get out with the family, plant tomatoes and other tasty crops, walk the dog on the beach. But I have a much better option: finish that long overdue cable management job! #woo #nomoretriphazards

I have been uncharacteristically off-line today and, having seen Prebbo's appointment to the Waitangi Tribunal, I really regret looking at my phone this afternoon. WTAF? Was this in the coalition agreement too?

Ugh. Reality Check Radio scaremongering about digital currency. They also ignored my no circulars sign! Grr

I've been standing out in the garden for ten minutes trying to get the dog to do last wees for the night. I now need to go! Hurry up dog.
