The US is led by a buffoon, who is manning a rudderless tiller.

A lunatic that realizes deep down he is in way over his head. As an adult he has no inner mechanism to accept the situation he is in. He is a narcissist who has not grown up.

That’s the problem with a presidential republic. It works great as long as everyone gets along. A parliamentary republic would deal with antagonism better. It’s not a cure, but wouldn’t it be nice if Trump’s folly could collapse anytime?

Government and political system that is allowing for these arbitrary and pernicious decisions. Unless we Canadians see concrete progress towards effective and fair governance, and beneficial democratic diplomacy, we will remain skeptical of your country and focus our efforts of progress elsewhere.

Thank you Senator for your remarks. I too want to see an improvement in Canada-US relations. They will not get better unless wholesale change occurs. Many see Trump as the instigator of the present situation, but Canadians are shocked at the rapidity of the changes and the weakness of the US

If it were someone other than Trump I would be less sceptical. PMMC, proceed with caution.

Trevor Noah wrote about the toxic environment in SA after apartheid in his book Born a Crime. The white government provoked animosity between the different Black groups such as Zulu, Tsonga, Xhosa, etc. the white community has remained largely untouched.

~340 million people do not have healthcare as a right. Your country will go into massive debt for billionaires and the military but not for you. The US is an outlier, not a leader.

We are wired to detect humour quickly. Perhaps critical thinking helps us to determine if the humour is friendly or not. Anywho, empathy and conscience easily follow. For normal folks that is. Not this lot.

Perhaps New Jersey should gift something as well. A Presidential Hanger for the plane, at Newark.

Tourism is enduring. Oil extraction not so much. Smarten up Alberta. Tell the whining separatists to do one.

Don’t you mean carpet wrapper? It is very difficult to get any length of carpet in to a bag. Besides, his private sector experience would be sufficient criteria to fulfill carpet wrapping functions, given the appropriate equipment.

Financial security seems to be the only perceived safe harbour for many people. Honour is viewed as a luxury. Integrity is viewed as useless. When hunger and homelessness is just a paycheque away, fear rises and people lash out.
