Retired ECCC meteorologist, dedicated father, but not in that order. Skeptical of cynics, cynical about skeptics, exhausted by conspiracy theorists.

As I retired meteorologist with Environment Canada, I am truly saddened by this. Government meteorologists are like hockey referees- when they do their job, you don’t notice them. People are eventually going to notice the missing shifts displayed.

Lowest “living standards” while having, by far, the highest provincial GDP per capita. So any of the majority of Albertans not realizing that high GDP should ask themselves - who the hell is bringing up the average? Hint: who is telling you to push for pipelines…?

A lot of talk by a certain Premier about how much $ would be lost if oil wasn’t taken from the ground. She neglected to point out the eventual financial cost of doing so! It’s not good business.

Yes, I’ve said Canada has held a great advantage - oil wealth to help the energy transition that is necessary and inevitable. Forgetting the effects of climate change, investment in O&G doesnt make long term financial sense to the average guy. The fantasy is thinking otherwise.

Sure, let’s procrastinate more. Let’s ignore the increasing financial cost of climate change. And continue to focus on avoiding diversification of the economy at the same time. Woo hoo!

We’re not paying to defend trump from the enemies he’s racking up.

The enemy of my enemy is still my enemy. Sorry.

They’re his enemies, not ours. Let him pay for the friggin’ thing. Better yet, we’ll charge him $61 billion for rent his installation will need in our Arctic. Mineral rights not included.

How about letting parents make such decisions on things regarding their children.

Trump can pay for defending against the enemies he is rapidly accumulating himself.

There are no more climate change deniers now. There are only climate change don’t-give-a-shitters. The science is clear, the forecasts are bearing truth and there are no valid counter-arguments.

The leader of the Opposition is an important role in Canadian politics. PP is not fulfilling those duties. Conservatives should be more bothered than anyone else. The shmendrick lost the election, and his seat, and he still seems to be campaigning in the same immature manner.

Ha! I’m torn as an Albertan living in the Maritimes. I’ve in the past voiced objection to Quebec’s desire for ‘identity’ but now… I get it. I f*cking get it. I appreciate all my Quebec friends more than ever. Get on board Alberta!

There was btn 10-15cm accumulated this morning inland. I’m in middle sackville - the RDPS didn’t do all that bad.

The fabricated ‘facts’ on Canada taking advantage of the U.S. need to be countered. We need to control and counter the rhetoric this U.S. is casting. The White House spokespeople are shameful.

If Trump wants to force annexation of Canada, he’d better hurry. I suspect America is losing respect by about 100,000 people worldwide every time Trump opens his yap. And he can’t stop doing that. He’s probably too late now AND we’re ready.

A lack of official political experience doesn’t seem to be a detriment anymore. Carney will do great. His business experience might be more valuable against Trump anyway. Although PP WAS once a paperboy…

The most energetic can charged particles spiral down the magnetic field lines at the poles, interact with atmospheric elements. This excitation results in the aurora.
