Bkueskies, please convince me that my next YouTube video is worth making? Right now it's perfect but only exists in my head. It's a book haul but I explain how each book I bought will inform my teaching and research in September, and I compare myself to Giles from Buffy.

Every day I wake up and while screaming at the top of my lungs "what's going on?!" I wonder why so many online experts are actually not experts in what they claim to be experts in. This is a sub tweet because my secret online enemy is being wrong again.

Remember how "digital natives" were the next big thing and in practice my students don't know how to effectively evaluate scams online?

Please read this whole thread and also I want a flashlight fish.

I have met Dr. Davies and he's very passionate about projects like this that give undergraduate students opportunities to work with primary sources in a meaningful way. More funding for this!!

Everyone look at Rosie!!

If I were in charge of a small liberal arts school, I would start thinking about aggressively marketing my institution as a "knowledge-first" college. One where students can escape the intrusion of constant AI and focus on deep learning and engagement.

Thinking a lot this week about this axiom, as folks argue that Bluesky is mean.

The poor puppies are trying very hard to alert me to the people coming in and out of my apartment so they can change every lock in the building. :(

My landlord is changing the locks to every apartment in the building and I'm stressed about this for so many different reasons.

Taking the dogs for a long walk at 4:30 because global warming. 🙃

My brain is doing that thing where I don't want to be awake but I don't want to be asleep so maybe if I refresh every social media site a decision will be made.

All I want out of life right now is the best episode of Knowledge Fight.

Wow! This ewe has such striking markings which are accentuated by her horns #IcelandivSheep

I'm taking the dogs to the dog park and I would like something actually to happen while I am doing so. I would be more specific but I have already been visited by RCMP for flippant comments in my life and don't want it to happen again.

Interested in doing something cool re: the semiquincentennial but avoiding official America250 events because of shenanigans like this ⬇️?? We gotchu! fullstorybaltimore.tours/our-tours/#r...

An infant has died of measles in Ontario. The government says this was because the baby was born defective so we shouldn't count this as a measles death. As you know, if a child has medical complications they're disposable This is sarcasm, to be clear. This is a horrible, preventable tragedy.

So many of the fiction books I've been reading lately seem like they were specifically written to become a television series with a quirky set of female amateur detectives and an amusing setup. One of them was written by a tv writer (and is now a series), and two others have been made into shows.

One thing that's frustrating about being depressed is that yes, making myself clean my room is making me feel better. 🙃🙃🙃🙃 next thing you know getting adequate sleep and eating vegetables will help, too.

During the 2015 & 2018 strikes, my university went on record saying adjunct faculty just aren't as good or as serious as tenured faculty. then after the strike still hired us to teach over half the classes. What is it -- we're awful and don't deserve job security or we're an amazing teaching team?

Happy #WhiskersWednesday! #cats
