And she was such a wonderful advocate for animals. Margaret Houlihan is one of the best written and developed characters in TV history. It’s a shame she doesn’t get brought up more. Here’s to you Margaret and Loretta.

The right has embraced being “tough” to the point of a pathology. There is a perverse glorification of cruelty to the point of virtue.

It’s such a fascinating look into current culture. I thank god every day that I didn’t grow up in a time when my youthful idiocy was documented for the world to potentially see and give so much slack to today’s youth for that reason. But then someone comes out and invites it (also cultural). Amazing

People that have no compunction about torturing animals usually don’t have one regarding harming humans.

So does that mean if he commits a crime there, like oh I don’t know… bribery, he can be prosecuted because he wasn’t acting as the president there? What do you say Alito?

Theres something to be said for the appeal to futility fallacy. But perhaps i misunderstood you (like this post and when you compared the parties). If so i apologize. They seemed beneath your usual insight but maybe were in jest. This too might be a case of social media not being a medium for nuance

To be fair Ben, this interpretation is actually based on not just this but also listening to the Animal Spirits Pod which I do every week. Many times you’ve prefaced your political opinions with the caveat that you don’t engage with politics.

Ben and Michael are great. In many ways, not just on money (investing and saving). Their life takes, entertainment, etc. And I would never tell him to not talk about something or have an opinion, but his political opinions often lack a clear knowledge on the subject.

Um… Carl, please do not disparage grunge like this. It was awesome. It was necessary. It is a prolonged moment of catharsis for a subgroup of the population. This has nothing to do with DOGE.

It’s easy Basil. We needed to stop fentanyl from coming into the country so we levied countries to make a deal we already had. But also we needed to bring back manufacturing and jobs most people dont want making things we shouldnt be making. In addition we needed to correct a trade imbalance that…

Biden invested in roads and bridges. Trump wants to invest in prisons. If there is a definitional difference between parties (and I’m no liberal). That’s it. Means of getting from one packs to another/connecting people. Versus iron bars and disconnection.
