i'm really bummed she's retiring. don't think i can come up with anything significant she's been on the wrong side of since January 20.

blocking is good, but it's funny how this soft-as-shite muppet did it when i had the temerity to be annoyed that he hadn't viewed a primary source. look at the info that's come out if he'd waited just a few hours instead of hyping up the "it was a cop" narrative. total poltroon

agreed. the number of accounts with huge followings just idly doing Sling Blade-tier musing about what happened without watching the briefing is maddening.

my list of beefs with the state of law enforcement in this country is a mile long, but for pity's sake it's not even midday and this remains a live situation. there are umpteen "maybes" that we won't have certainty on until after an apprehension

thank you for this. i'm losing my mind watching all these people speculate, clearly not having watched the briefing.

have any of you speculating *watched* the briefing? the Brooklyn Park chief was clear that it's not a real officer, but an impersonator. if he's shading the truth at a podium w/ the governor and head of state public safety there, we have a whole host of bigger issues www.youtube.com/live/VHtHNAb...

was addressed by the Brooklyn Park PD chief during the briefing. one of his officers assisted at the shooting in Champlin, realized it was the state senator, called in to suggest a proactive stop at Hortman's home since she is the House rep for Brooklyn Park. confirmed on record shooter isn't a cop

multifamily juices tax base much more on a per-sqft basis than single family, AND 40% doesn't get siphoned away for Fiscal Disparities like with comm/industrial. relevant for job-rich cities who are net contributors to FD (put in more than they get back): metrocouncil.org/Communities/...

don't disagree with the "compete everywhere and start yesterday" ethos, but even allowing for the fact that he's not on the ballot, it's hard to think of an Iowa statewide without picking up the cosmic microwave background of the late Selzer poll in 2024

an inveterate grasper, and it's an alarming indictment of the elite commentariat that so many bought into it from the jump and have tried to retcon some complicated story onto his shapeshifting over the years

yep, that's fair. in any event, set against a backdrop of the admin poised to slash the program when it should be increased 10x or more. in the Twin Cities there is effectively no supply of vouchers, almost have to move out of region to get one elsewhere, live there for a year, port it back

if owners want to refuse to consider Sec 8 holders, fine. but i don't have a lot of time for the bleating about maintaining minimal standards and going through an annual inspection if you want the guaranteed payments--it's not that crushingly burdensome of an ask

also compelling: the methodical way of demonstrating how the gov't loses on every single factor of what they sought, and pointing out the absurdity of claiming she can't mount a challenge for failure to accurately name the custodian when they intentionally created that situation

even *thinking* there's a comparison to Soviet anything is laughably deranged. saying it out loud on the public record is so far around the bend that it ought to instantly torch one's credibility.

yup, if a single district judge was able to coopt Biden's control of immigration policy by yoking him to Remain in Mexico, we can be pretty certain that the Fifth Circuit will be standing by to resume application of the "Democrats exercising power is illegitimate" principle

closer look at the memorial: www.hmdb.org/m.asp?m=78365 but it seems to strain credulity that there's a museum. the village hall is on the National Register for i guess New Deal era architectural reasons? npgallery.nps.gov/AssetDetail/... my Waverly info ends at having fished the lake 2 years ago

this is the part that's got to be breaking Judge Xinis' brain (though she can't say that)...he's the DAAG! this is not some junior AUSA way down the org chart. the idea that he can't get someone authoritative on the blower is just farcical

@minnesotajosh.bsky.social and i have a friend with a camper on Trego over in Wisconsin and we've hit Grindstone and other Hayward area lakes. in October 2023 had a legendary smallie smashfest on Trego itself when they'd all pushed up to the dam for the winter

the MN bass enthusiast community is hot to trot for the annual legislative proposals to allow year-long c&r, but as last i knew they're nowhere near accumulating enough support to get that over the line
comment in response to post
well, i mean intentionally fishing for bass, not catching by accident. bass season for inland waters has always kicked off on Mother's Day weekend and except for the NE zone starts with a 2 week c&r only period. the rivers bordering SD/ND and the Mississippi bordering WI are more permissive though
comment in response to post
desperate for MN to someday greenlight a longer bass season like WI has
