Makes me think of Fritz Perls. He fled Germany early and his family who stayed behind were slaughtered in the camps. He spoke of how they told him he was overreacting and how often that haunted him. Never forgot his story and its hard not to make the comparisons.

Tru story time: My father is Vietnam Vet / police officer. He is retired now and he usually wears hats and shirts that espouse his military/law enforcement history. Though recently he wears stuff to highlight his native american ancestory. He voted for Trump after much arguing with me.
