"New Research Confirms ADHD as an Evolutionary Advantage, Not a Disease"

“We need to tackle the root causes of bacterial infections – antibiotics are not the answer”

Correct. The belief that obesity is a state of mind fixable through education rather than state of the body that might require medical intervention is exactly that. A belief. The facts say otherwise. You can't educate people out of obesity any more than you can educate them out of migraines.

Not that I’m pointing the finger or anything, but this voting intention from YouGov: Among People with Jobs: LAB: 27% RFM: 24% LDM: 16% CON: 15% GRN: 12% Among the Retired: RFM: 36% CON: 28% LDM: 14% LAB: 13% GRN: 4%

Wouldn't it be great if Starmer pushed ahead with his welfare bill and lost horribly triggering a no confidence situation and the selection of a new labour leader who actually belonged in the party and believed in looking after vulnerable people.

What's the betting that if Starmer gets his welfare bill through (unlikely) the projected £5bn saving will be more than offset by the increased costs that depriving people of that benefit causes (such as physical and mental health problems, loss of employment, reduced educational outcomes, etc.

he's right and he's right to say it

The trolley problem isn't real. It's just a trick used by bad people who do terrible things to convince you they had to do it in order to avoid something even worse. Particularly relevant right now.

If things get any worse for the Labour leadership they're going to have to do the unthinkable and tax rich people

There's only one country on this planet that has definitively proved it can't be trusted with nukes...

A reminder: Law Professors: The Constitution still exists and the Courts will protect us. Historians:

9 years ago tonight, I was in the Blackheath Army Cadet centre watching the votes come in ... as a Remain observer in the EU referendum. Few nights in my life have ever been so utterly depressing and I don't think I've ever really looked at my country or fellow citizens in quite the same way.

if not war, why war shaped?

So Martine Croxall incorrectly changes a quoted paper live on air and gives a disapproving eye roll at the same time. Impartiality requires that I can't interpret her views. She's a news reporter not a celebrity or sports presenter and the expectation is greater as a result.

No lie spotted

"pregnant person" as terminology emerged WAY before you ever heard about it, transphobes. It was mainly used when a lesbian couple is having a baby. That way "women" or "mother" isn't a specific enough term. Also, not all women are pregnant, Martine, you smug snide. Some NEVER are.

Her job is too read the teleprompter, not overlay her own personal opinions onto someone else's quote. All attitude and no talent

Ironic that the people who say "be glad you live in a country where you can criticise the government and protest without getting arrested" are the same ones who are working hard to get people arrested for criticising the government and protesting.

Many people will vote Reform because they'll promise to improve standards of living. What they'll actually do is make themselves and a bunch of other rich people richer while the country goes to shit. Their voters will still be happy though because they'll get to see minorities suffering

Reform UK is proposing a "Britannia card" that would let wealthy foreigners pay a £250k fee to move to the UK, and live here exempt from all tax on their foreign assets What they don't say: it would cost the UK £34bn Report here, and thread below: buff.ly/gpe2Dpf

Oil prices are going up, and everything else will follow suit. They don't actually need to go up or course, but it'd be a shame to miss out on the opportunity to profit from war and suffering. Capitalism ftw

It was never "project fear". It was just the truth. The leave campaign, on the other hand...

Reposted from a few days ago, relevant in the light of Starmer supporting the US strikes on Iran, which are unequivocally illegal

Terrified of women in hijabs and nikabs, but okay with armed men in balaclavas dragging people off the streets because they "look a bit foreign". Sounds a bit racist to me.

Birds of a feather...
