I'm staring at supervision today and hoping we can do therapy cause ugh.

OK we so need coffee and chat time. or beach and chat time. And for my insides to cooperate.

I think psychoanalytic training would probably line up even more? But I have a whole theory that psychoanalysts (and therapists with that theoretical orientation) are essentially the priests/shamans/etc of the modern age anyway and someday I need to write about it.

It's like these folks have never heard of Jonathan Daniels and the other white folks killed along side black activists during civil rights. Jim Crow is partly enforced by terrorizing white folks too! Stay in line, don't unite or you'll get it as bad as them *is how this works.*

Oh that would be perfect!

It ain't their first rodeo for SURE.
comment in response to post
Oh that would be fascinating. (I've def compared my seminary exp to my therapy grad program)

These days there are so many ex cop cars floating around (auctioned) that it would be easy to fake one back up pretty quick.

OMG we had one doing that to our chimney cap first year we were here. It was SO LOUD I thought it was an earthquake!
comment in response to post
It is from a desk set. That weight was once attached to a wooden stand/block!

I take back all of my criticism of my program. Shit.
comment in response to post
Wait. WHAAAAA??? Holy shit on a shingle that is not OK in any way shape or form. (And way to pathologize those without any sexual experience.)
comment in response to post
Yeah I've seen a strong emphasis here on "have an experience and reflect on it and share how that's informed your future practice" and I like that framing. Way better than "lay your SOUL BARE to prove to us you've done your work!"
comment in response to post
And only the prof saw it, we didn't share them in class. We just did reflection in class about learning/how to use with clients/etc. I've been very impressed with how careful they are about that. it has created a safe enough environment many of us HAVE shared intimate details, but it was a choice.
comment in response to post
Ahhh, yeah we had to do a genogram but what we turned in was a reflection paper on what we'd learned, what the experience had been like and how we'd use it with clients. We had to upload the genogram but she was fine if we blanked out information she just wanted to see we knew how to do one.

Oh holy cats no, that ain't OK. I have some serious criticisms of my program but self-disclosure has always been 100% up to us and never expected. (It's CACREP and they apparently can't require us to be in therapy which I find deeply weird.)

Seriously, we need to cancel heterosexuality until we can figure out what's going on.

Ooo, OK I hadn't heard of her before, book rec? (Not that I need more books to read)

I... How is this author making the extrapolation (from apparently nothing?) that there isn't abuse/trauma present in families with BPD?? Is there not a LOT of literature linking BPD to trauma and/or abuse???

Our responsibility is not to convince non-Christians that we're the good guys. It's our responsibility to confront and repair their damage by listening. We live with vast Christian privilege and we must take on the work of repentance, reconciliation, and justice.

This is why in the end I keep coming back to Jung. Give me dreams, and symbols that mean 10,000 things, and tarot cards, and the unconscious, etc.

Yeah, and maybe it is cultural too. I've found a lot of the European writers I just... have trouble with? I think we're fundamentally coming from deeply different contexts? (Nothing is concrete for me, it's all liminal, it is all yes/and, its all mysticism.)

I'm just always VERY suspicious of anything that projects onto babies anything but *they're literally just trying to stay alive and are 100% dependent on the people around them to respond properly, often screaming anger is the ONLY option.* This mama bear never had kids, they're all my kids. 😂
comment in response to post
I am suddenly very glad I haven't read Klein cause anyone who thinks babies can be hateful I would need to fight. Physically.
comment in response to post
RIGHT? My guess is Mom is projecting a whole shit ton more onto baby than visa versa.
comment in response to post
OMG deviled eggs through a straw I would PAY for that. Literally someone make that happen I'd be so happy. 😂 But really, I think we're just talking about soup here. 😂

Thank you!

OK but weirdly once I'm on their site they list monk fruit as an ingredient. I do not get on with the flavor of it so sadly that won't work. :( I"ll check if all their flavors have it.

Maple sugar is 100% fine! I love maple syrup and use it a LOT (side effect of growing up rural Michigan where the local farmers all had sugar shacks, maple syrup was literally our cheapest sweetener.)
comment in response to post
I found a "naked" whey protein powder that's got nothing but whey in it so I've got that coming today and hopefully that'll help bc I can even just mix it with chocolate ice cream. 😂

*taps her fingers waiting for preorder to show up*
comment in response to post
Yeah we don't care about that for me (low pot/phos) but I'll look into them, thank you!
comment in response to post
Looks good on protein, and I can make it higher fat and calories by using whole milk. Definitely gonna order some cause doctor needs me to NOT lose anymore weight.
comment in response to post
OMG thank you, I've never heard of it but that's got just real sugar!
comment in response to post
What protein powder (brand) do you use? I'm also not finding any that don't include some sort of artificial sweetener. :(
comment in response to post
Thank you, I'll look into those! The premade ones are so, so horrible.
comment in response to post
Note: not high fiber. I need protein, liquid diet stuff without fiber added. Fiber is the enemy of my condition atm.

Why are we all broken all of a sudden I don't like it! Dear bodies, get it together, please, us.

My pens are all stored nib down and they do not leak. If a fountain pen leaks there's something WRONG with it.

Jeebus if I were the world cup I'd yank that venue and move it elsewhere. (Probably not realistic but...)

Ahh, I am subbed to to more than one Becca list and I suspect this is why I see so little of this shit?
