When most of the tube shut down last month due to power failure, TfL got criticised for not announcing on social media. And they said they no long do updates as they don’t reach people in time! We had a simple pure info resource for most brands/services for ten years and we’ve basically lost it!

There's a real chance that software products that lots and lots of people around the world use all the time will simply disappear in the next few years. It's already happened in the past. It'll happen again in the future.

Whenever I see stuff about "AGI" or "the dangers of AI" or something, I also think that *you can turn off computers* if you need to. It's an extreme example but software is something that can be removed from life.

First of all: the barebones HTML of it all. It's an aesthetic. Personally, I love this aesthetic, but in this case it says "We move FAST, and are SERIOUS ENGINEERS!"

I was just thinking about this. It almost never comes up as a topic.

Do we even have a good shared understanding of what AGI is? At least with Santa Claus we could all say "Oh yeah, that guy is Santa"
