another drawing from this series. this time, playing around with overlapping/transparency between the colors themselves. there are some interesting things happening where the colors meet, noticing the content-aware fill doesn't really know what to do in some places, which yields unique results

I say this after living in Australia for a few years and learning very quickly what a speed limit actually means. They take speeding seriously, and if you do it regularly, you will lose your license.
by contrast, in the US you can usually get as many speed camera tickets as you want. it's a fee.

I'm not a spot*fy user, and I keep a huge library of music files on my NAS which I listen to using the Plex web app. while it's not a perfect solution to your problem, I do like these auto-generated categories of albums I havent listened to in a few months.

I reached out to my local council in Sydney to get a crosswalk redesigned (there are tire marks all over where pedestrians are expected to stand).
They responded and told me they have been evaluating the crosswalk SINCE 2017! guess we need somebody to die before a change is made

I like Wikipedia for this, oddly enough. I'll go through a band/artist's Timeline and then see where members broke off or left the band, and then go look up the new bands they joined. or, look at who produced/recorded an album and go find what else they worked on.

yep. I guess the lesson here is that a "lifetime purchase" is the lifetime of the app, not MY lifetime 😂

using a computer in the early 2000's was high stakes. you were always one accidental click away from deleting your harddrive, or destroying it?

As it turns out, you are correct. They discontinued the 2013 version of "iA Writer Classic" back in 2016.
Slightly annoying because back then I thought, I was purchasing a one-off piece of software but I guess it only lasts as long as Apple will support it. Oh well!

I had purchased iA Writer back in 2013 for $10 but unfortunately it doesn't work anymore.
I just emailed support to see if I am able to redeem my previous purchase, because what else is a one-time fee good for if it doesn't entitle you to future updates?

ahhh I used to use iA writer many years back, will give it another try. thanks for the suggestion!

Spoiler alert: It’s because of corporate greed.
CVS made $4.6 billion in 2024 and it’s still not enough.

for most of my baking I start with Smitten Kitchen (lol) and go from there. her recipe here doesn’t contain nuts but I’ve found that banana bread does typically contain nuts for whatever reason.
when I was a kid, my mom used to make two batches: one with nuts and one without, just for me :)

bummer, I can't say the same happens to my steam wand. I dont do a ton of milk drinks (usually 3x per day) and only the bottom 1-2 cm of the wand itself ever gets milk on it, but it doesn't get cooked on like youre describing. maybe wipe first and purge second? dunno, good luck!

imo it’s too much gear. I have a pack of these towels and immediately after steaming, wet the corner with boiling water and wipe, purge, wipe. after a few uses, just chuck it in the laundry, easy

I would also really like to be able to search "in:liked" or "in:reposted" or something similar, e.g. search for posts that I have posted or reposted

I taught my wife how to make zines and now we/she makes them for friends as gifts.
just A4 folded and usually a 2 or 3 hole stab bind on the spine. we have a b&w Brother printer so we print at home. Currently working on a side project which I may contract a local riso printer to do a larger run

I'm so fascinated by all the "big" stuff in Australia. Here is a huge table and chairs in Goondiwindi. 8 hour drive from where I live
