We have influences, yes. But we also have our own experience. We have our own opinion. We have our own fears and our own concerns. Something "AI" does not and will never have.
All of those things influences our work, more so than what we've read/watched. Stories would be no where without that part.

Another topic for patreon essays...post-acceptance process for pro-magazines and/or what those magazine editors like to revise out and in.
Cant wait for the story!

Why have brain function at this point? Dont talk, dont think, dont create. Just plug into your affirmation machine and breathe oxygen. Or does a llm need to tell them to do that as well?

Oh, and add in how you personally take an idea to a full story.

I tried scrivener once but it was way too complicated for my tastes. One Word document for the manuscript is all I need.

Definitely your views on the aspects of writing (character, plot, setting, etc.) But I would be particularly interested in your thoughts on when everything started to click for you.

How embarrassing. Yet Im sure they all check the box on the submission page saying it wasnt created/assisted by those LLMs...

Its probably also that they read it...but have no morals and think they can get away with submitting generated crap.

People are still submitting generated crap on mass??

Editing short stories...maybe starting a new one.

This is hilarious if it wasnt so depressing and dystopian.

For real, back when the llms first started to explode, someone tried to argue the summary of a book it generated was so good and unique...but when one looked up the summary's details, they found an existing book with the exact same things.

Can I sell you a drill that may or may not screw the right way.
Oh sorry, not sell, subscribe to my screwing services. We may or may not update the drill to be better.

Why one would ever take writing advice from a LLM is beyond me.

I agree that line is silly, but also I do agree with him that the liberal sphere (of which Im apart of) has pretty heavily laid on the perception that males are problematic over the years and push their issues aside. Which my thoughts on that would largely echo Scott Galloway.

Thats a stretch.

One new independent press attempting to publish three books a year is insignificant in the grand scheme of things. I think if other presses can have demographic wants, there can be ones with "male" in mind.

I see many people just read the title and jumped to the worst possible conclusions...
