We might be better off with two left wing parties that caucuses together. Enable more horse trading. As it stands, the left holds its nose and votes blue and only occasionally gets its priorities advanced.

I couldn’t believe there wasn’t enough for a TRO in this case, even though I’m no litigator: physical seizure of what was essentially private property seems like irreparable harm to me.

This is why I think the idea of permanent Democratic Party regional headquarters would make sense. Provide services for the communities that lose them under Trump, build community for party members.
Runs the risk of creating grass roots demands, though, so there might not be Monet for it.

I’m finding limiting my amount of time on here to get informed is helpful. It doesn’t take too long.
Think I need to do more in my community to really feel better, but not letting bluesky become a doomscroll is helpful.

Makes me wonder if you could set up crowdfunded versions of both that never tried to make money. It’s like Twitter, but no Nazis! Bluesky is closer of course.

I feel like guilt and the desire to escape it are, perhaps paradoxically, major motives for racism. If you're told that your ancestors, people that you to some extent identify with, did horrible things, one way to escape the cognitive dissonance is to embrace their justifications for those things.

I'm in my 40s and have lived through three iterations of "both parties are the same OH WAIT THEY'RE NOT THIS SUCKS" (2000, 2016, 2024).
