Two things I'll note: 1) the Bona quartet (Editors + Lyam) are absolutely wonderful and have been giving an ungodly number of hours to it over the last ~18 months or so. πŸ’œ 2) the latter stretch goals for Wrath Month are absolutely phenomenal and I'll be very cross if they're not met. πŸ˜‡ πŸ‘€

So Labour is now pushing mandatory digital identity cards for everyone in the UK. Not to make services better. Not to protect your rights. But because a β€œsmall number” of migrants might be a problem. Let’s talk about how dangerous this is. 🧡

Some excellent stretch goals on here. Really hope they get to achieve them. πŸ‘€

This looks great. And another short story, to boot!

"If they have to do it, they should do it in private." "Yeah!" "It's not right, doing it in the open where kids can see." "Yeah! It's not like they have to, it's something they choose to do." "True. Hate is a lifestyle choice." "Absol- Hate?" "Yeah. What did you think we were talking about?"

It's been a grand total of three hours and they're already 80% funded! I'm not surprised, but it's impressive considering that Europe is still at work and America has barely woken up. You should go and back this too. It'll be brilliant. 🩷

Wrath Month is here! The guys at Bona Books are wonderful and this project looks amazing. If ever an anthology of queer wrath was needed, surely this year is it? ✊🩷

Pride is upon us and the campaign for Wrath Month launches in 48 hours. Join the riot. πŸ’™πŸ“šπŸͺπŸ“šπŸŒˆπŸš€πŸ’«

It's worth noting that the last Labour government issued an apology for imposing precisely this treatment on Alan Turing.

Colleague 1, on chat about the latest silliness: "This is just corporate ragebate though, isn't it?" Me and Colleague 2: "Yes, but also yes, but also no..." 😢 πŸ‘€

bbc.com/news/article... In the times of the Mabinogion, these rainforests would have been much more prevalent. Throughout the stories, the ancient woodlands were places of magic and transformation. 1/2

One thing I've come to realise, sometimes the hard way, is that shame is a *really* terrible motivator. Given the state of the world, we need more people on side, not fewer. If they want to speak up but only see friendly voices shouted down for Doing It Wrongβ„’, they'll stay silent or walk away. /1

I RAGED at this on the radio yesterday, and will repeat my mantra: you cannot (MUST NOT) ask people to develop 'resilience' or 'grit' against those things that are in your power to change. 'Develop resilience' so often means 'your disability is inconveniencing me, please be less disabled' 🧡

Anyone else think #IDAHOBIT should have actual Hobbits? Just me? Oh, well. πŸ˜…

Just heard an advert for a breakfast cereal called 'Mornflakes', but because I'm me, my brain immediately gave me 'Mornflakes' as in the character Morn from Deep Space 9 (eminently suited to radio, I think you'll agree), and simultaneously, "Mournflakes' which sound like Wednesday Addams' breakfast.

The problem with being a writer– –Okay, fine. *A* problem with being a writer is that you spend ages working on something, get about as happy as you can be about it, submit it, and... immediately have to start thinking and talking about something else for a while. But... but..! Aw. πŸ₯Ί #Writesky

Just saying, the quiet, dignified life isn't for *all* of us trans folks. Some of us want to make the world a better place, don't take ourselves too seriously, and aren't worried about being loud if we need to be. We're definitely here for the glorious multitudes, though. More of that, please! πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈ

Ahem. @eddavey.libdems.org.uk @cajardinemp.bsky.social @markpackuk.bsky.social

Creative workers in the UK are in the curious position of being protected from hostile Labour legislation by Tory peers.

Really important that MPs hear from trans legal experts about what the Supreme Court ruling actually means for trans people, not what the papers are reporting. Ask yours to attend πŸ‘‡
