I once heard Jeff Spaulding, ex director AGNS & Beaverbrook, use this painting, and Elevator Court to conceptualize the evolving Group of 7 view of Canada. it was a great way to pin a trend that wasn’t limited to their more usual Ont. vistas and to land Canadian art as including things in Halifax

years ago at King’s…. a class with a well meaning former diplomat who was adapting to teaching…. i think it was the League of Nations but perhaps formation of UN. Russia doesn’t see Canada as “independent” as worthy of membership. Canada stays…White Russia gets in as well as a second Russia seat

a few of the images are printed to banner size and in December hang in the Archives lobby. it is not known how soon after the explosion the pictures were taken but the snow is gone and they show normal life returning amid the destruction

I think it’s a public policy question about where pensions and contracts land in bankruptcy rather than whether it’s a good or bad decision from the jidge

What is the handout from? Several are more nuances than the table suggests. As an example many provinces have indigenous affairs or relations as a portfolio because it’s a useful thing to do even if the responsibility is all federal.

Great clarity and not much wing movement. Did you use a phone or “real” camera? Any special settings?

It’s also interesting that in the Blue Jays and other sports on TV there are now ads for online betting indicating you need to be in Ontario or NS to play. My recollection was it was limited to the Ontario previously. I wonder what changed?

Also interesting that the act gave the Province immunity from any claims or liability flowing from action under the Act or some damage issues. Which is suggestive that liabilities might be there without the act

A bit simplistic but most legislation has a provision that effective date is to be determined by cabinet. It could be to await regulations or provide for public info before changes, to allow transition between old and new legislation or for other reasons
