Hooray!
Imo it's maddening & depressing that our elected reps are putting on such a sh*tshow that non-govt organizations have to carry the water.
It makes me believe 47 is on point about reforming govt. BUT his "why" is for all the wrong reasons, his "how" stinks, & his "what" won't help.

Must be you, couldn't be the fearless "loyal opposition."

Just one problem: Musk isn't an official. Not that I disagree with what Ed Davey says.

I'd rather lobotomize him with a coathanger. Too late, you say?

To whom do you report hate speech if there's nobody there? If a tree falls in the forest, and there's nobody there... I hope anti-Semites have a field day targeting him (just him).

Anarchism is an anomaly. It's based on a system of voluntary cooperation, so you'll reach gridlock faster than Congress. All a person has to do is say "No," and there's nothing you can do about it. I can shoot you with impunity if you don't do what I say. That's a dumb philosophy.

Yep. 7M fewer people voted in '24 than in '20. I doubt it was because they were so busy looking for cheap eggs. Ockham's Razor (or Occam, if you prefer).
PS: Imo you need to include misogyny. A double whammy.

Yes, Justice failed, but there was a 2nd safety net, which failed too.
Don the con because voters failed.

Imo a $3 bill would be more appropriate (and accurate).

They didn't get a woman President?
They didn't get a(nother) minority member President?
Both?

"It only hurts for a little while." I suspect we'll be saying that a lot for the next 4 years.

I'll write a coherent reply as soon as I stop laughing. I hope every single last Pennsylvanian who bought Trump's shtick gets it shoved where the sun don't shine.

Excellent example of how one is entitled to his/her opinion, but not all opinions are equal or worth promulgating.
Imo (😊) this "Opinion" should have stayed in G&M's editorial head & never seen the light of day.

Are you not a US citizen? His name was on the 1st check. I'll never forget it. Everything about him annoys me, even his signature.

Give credit where it's due (?).
A good grifter knows how to play a mark.
Sadly the marks brought millions of us who weren't played down with them.
For god's sweet sake, get rid of the Electoral College! If your state isn't part of the Nat'l Popular Vote Interstate Compact, get going!

Have read about Trump voters who are upset about losing their pre-existing condition(s) coverage under the ACA if Obamacare is repealed.
Even the Daily Mail reported it.

Agree, @ak771. And they can't/won't admit it. I don't know about you, but I'm not proud to be an American now. I always thought I would be no matter how silly some people got.

Some, sure. But I've read about people who are shocked & angry because they've learned that their pre-existing condition coverage under the ACA will go away if Obamacare is repealed (or vice-versa).

If you grow up in a town where everyone says the sky is green, will you believe anyone who arrives & says the sky is blue?
If you move, & everyone says the sky is blue, will you change your mind? Tell people back home they're wrong? Go home & never speak of blue sky?

Character SHOULD count. But if it did, Trump wouldn't have been allowed to run at all. So, wishful thinking, like "America is a great country."

Imo MSM doesn't loathe to acknowledge the strategy. It refuses & turns a blind eye to it. Think of all the articles & columns tip-toeing around reality for 8 years now. And there's plenty more where that came from. An endless supply of sour milk.

We have a degenerate as Pres-elect. What can you say about him that's "appropriate...?"
For that matter, what can you say about all the people who think he's preferable to almost any other natural-born citizen (there might be a worse person, hence "almost").
comment in response to

Being accurate IS better.
If the shoe fits, etc.
How come you object to calling Gaetz "degenerate?" How would you describe him? Use adjectives.
comment in response to

To do that, they'd have to admit that 10M Dems stayed home rather than vote for a mixed-race woman.
Those 10M have shown the world what America is: A nation that chose a convicted criminal & narcissistic grifter to a decent, hard-working, non-white woman.

I've only been on Bsky a few days, & this is the longest thread I've seen.
So, to remind everyone: While people obsess about something that might happen sometime, Trump's making phone calls to world leaders & potential advisors about things that might happen in 2025. It's sleight of hand.

And we can count on NYT to stick to that "No."
We know how it worked to make sure nobody forgot Jan. 6, taking classified docs, adjudicated rapist, 34 criminal convictions, etc. Oh, wait...
We know how it worked to make sure people knew about his unfitness. Oh, wait...

And a women in WI who said she didn't care what T said because she knew what was in his head. This was after he talked about Arnold Palmer's package; I wondered what she "knew" was in T's head then...

I had to look up my State Rep--I got gerrymandered, and the "new guy" resigned, so I searched the net for "WTH?"
I've known who was Pres. since 1948 when my father (a lifelong Repub) laughed till he cried over "Dewey Defeats Truman".
I'm not a political junkie, I'm just curious. & I vote.

What is "search alogos?"

Imo Harris lost because more Americans are racists or misogynists (or both). Ask the 10M people who voted in 2020 but not in 2024 why they weren't "in it to win it."

I haven't watched or listened to any news since Nov. 4. I read things online.
Imo "the news" (ie, corp. media) bears a BIG responsibility for getting us here. I'm not boosting ratings or paying Sulzberger or Bezos another red ¢.

I have a "difficult time conceptualizing" the 10M people who voted in 2020 and sat this election out. I can only conclude they are racists/misogynists/both.
I'm not a political junkie, but I am a patriot. Or was. I'm not proud of the US right now.
I encourage them to prove me wrong.
