We’ve had a red kite circling low above our house/ garden in recent days and I wonder what it’s after? Plenty of dog toys on offer but I’d rather it took the rats 😂

And then my eye was caught by colour, and I found this! There's always one really early bird, keen to kick-start the woodland into full bluebell action. For you @thekentacorn.bsky.social

Wood pigeon, cooing outside my window. And a male blackbird with nesting material. Too late to cut the garden hedge now. 🪺

It’s a companion piece to a longer writing project, about walking a river as means through which to explore life-long friendships & relationships, their faithfulness & their betrayals; about nature & the changes due to climate change & our lack of care.

It’s a fantastic photograph. I remember a winter edition of the Radio Times, sporting a young woman in ice-skating gear, in green I think. I was mesmerised by this image. Probably early 1970’s

Today and for the past … number of days, surrounded by robins! I hear one first thing serenading us from the front garden through the front door and another sitting on the back garden fence, filling the kitchen with song #FirstBirdOfMyDay

Evidence, should it be extrapolated.

Follow up question, would it be wrong of me to have a snifter myself, now, with my lunch? 🤔

Would it still have had integral strength to be a working arrowhead? It looks too delicate!
