What a great way too cool off in the summer heat.

The lava-chicken song was unnecessary.

If the play is A Minecraft Movie, it's pretty bad tbh.

This movie isn't good. Has anyone talked about that?
comment in response to post
Lol The Rock isn't it this. It's Jason Mamoa! I clearly don't know shit about this movie.

Bold of you to assume throwing popcorn and yelling "chicken jockey" at the cat isn't why I decided to watch this tonight. I know two things about this movie: 1. Jack Black and the Rock are in it 2. The appropriate moment to yell CHICKEN JOCKEY.

We're three seconds in and already this movie is too chronically online. No one is going to think "As a child I yearned for the mines" is funny in 3 years, much less 10.

Also... Lol. Coward.

A past SUD does not make you a bad person. It says little about what kind of career you are for for. It does not mean you deserve to be mocked for it in public. Also, a past SUD is not responsible for you being an ableist, anti-vaxxer hell bent on destroying public health. That's the problem w RFK.
comment in response to post
Substances, whether they are alcohol, weed, heroin, coke, or whatever, will come with behavior changes while you are actively using them. SUD will also induce some behaviors that may not be in line with someone's values while you are struggling with it. This is all obviously true.

Is this because of Bluesky or is this because in the current moment it's hard to think about anything else? I ask myself this often.

Some of them have good benefits. That varies based on the state where you are employed.

That moment when you realize the hyenas may have been the good guys.

It's not a DnD game unless you're out there committing war crimes, tbh.

I'm not saying the Catholic Church is good or anything. I'm just saying that JD Vance is someone else's fault.
comment in response to post
... Excuse you JD Vance converted. We didn't produce that asshole.

beyond this, all i have to add is the eternal reminder that shutting the fuck up is free and often the most prudent course of action. i am now taking my own advice and leaving this thread here

In most cases having a 10 point scale doesn't provide any more insight and it just makes the math harder!
comment in response to post
You only need a 10 point scale if there is a distinct different between say a 3 and 4 or a 8 and 9! Everyone else just needs a 5 point scale! If your explanation of how the scale works involves lumping 2 numbers together, you only need a 5 point scale! Argh!

When my hair is short I have to include pronouns in my email sig because people start calling me the wrong name or "sir."

Lol also last note: I selfishly want women's basketball to stay women's basketball and not have a combined team because I like women's basketball and find men's basketball to be slow and boring.
comment in response to post
However I totally believe you about the Olympics though. There are lots of sports where it doesn't make sense and I can totally believe that's why they separated them.
comment in response to post
But also it's not about gender, you know? It's about testosterone and estrogen. Like for example, if we combined men's and women's triathlon records, specifically Ironman, women just wouldn't hold a world record. Maybe that's worth it for other sports to be combined but idk. It's tricky.
comment in response to post
Honestly with basketball it's not that the women are better, because women also wouldn't be very good at the men's version, it's just that they're so different it almost feels like 2 different sports. Idk I think there are some sports where gender separation makes sense and some where it doesn't.
comment in response to post
Honestly at this point men's and women's basketball are two different sports. Idk if the men would be v good at the women's version.

You seriously picked Grease 2 over Airplane 2? Do you even know what's a movie? I'm telling.

Hmmmm this seems out of character tbh.

He's an anti-vaxxer. He believes we shouldn't be using vaccines. What he gets is to remake public policy to follow his personal beliefs. This is why lots of people go into government work, including those who support vaccine access. they want the government to work how they think it should.

"Oh hey this guy seems pretty cool. I better make sure he wasn't into measuring people's skulls before I get too attached."

Lol no. I'm reading Radium Girls and they get the Harvard School of Public Health involved v early on. So I spent some of last night Googling folks to make sure they weren't eugenicists because that was such a thing.
