When Trump talks about how he has such a "good relationship" with various dictators, what he means is he sees them and thinks "We are not like those do-good chumps and losers. You and I see the world the same way. We speak the language of greed. We understand each other. We are the same."

Donald Trump is a businessman like Fredo Corleone is a businessman.

Zomg I want to just watch him say this over and over

I've been so excited to hold this in my hands... and it's finally here! "Lessons From Cats For Surviving Fascism" Thank you to the amazing team at Grand Central Publishing/Hachette and to Pablo Amargo for the stunning illustrations. Canada, UK, USA - June 24th Pre-Order Now! MagnaCata.com

For rich people and corporations, any restriction or law or requirement is "too onerous", "too burdensome" but there seems to be no requirement too burdensome to put on the backs of the struggling poor. For the poor, the more humiliating, difficult, and cruel, the better.

This is so cool. Hope it takes off, even tho odds are the United States will reject it as weak WOKE packaging. Source: TwistedSifter search.app/HdyVP Shared via the Google App

Why are Republicans so outraged and shocked that there are more people on medicaid now than there were before covid began? Didn't we all know there were going to be more people with disability and chronic illness after a deadly pandemic ran amok through the country?

This was today… Sotally tober… NYT clearly way off base…

I don’t know how many times we have to say this, but the U.S. government is not a business and shouldn’t be run like one. It’s a service—for the people.

Trump’s administration is putting zip ties on children. These babies dressed to go with their mom to court, bc she was doing the LAWFUL thing & our government ZIP TIED them 😩 I don’t want my tax dollars paying for babies to be zip tied, do you? It was never about protecting us from criminals.

and for one beautiful, fleeting moment, i felt tariff-free

I was telling my husband about this, and he went "Ehhhh, I don't know if those judges know anything." Which made parts of my brain explode with RAGE over this stupid notion that real experts don't actually know more than any other dumbass on the street. That ignorance is why we've got RFKjr. JFC

Periodic reminder that over 90% of cats are not a "breed". The vast majority of longhaired tabbies are not Maine Coons. Most grey cats are not Russian Blues. Most black cats are not Bombays. They're just lovely, perfect mixed breed cats that come in all colors and coat lengths!

Socialism is what they called public power. Socialism is what they called social security.    Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations.   Socialism is their name for almost anything that helps all the people. —Harry Truman, 1952

Maybe in about 30 years, when 47 is overthrown and we've begun to undo the damage that's been done, we can kind of start from scratch and make a society focused on the good of the people instead of the wealth of greedy ass hats. So, in THAT sense, yeah, maybe this is the start of a Golden Age.

I just finished reading Nestlings, by Nat Cassidy. I thought I'd find the subject matter upsetting (parenting, motherhood, weird vampires), but the book's voice was very real and the story grabbed me right away. In fact, I was sure the author was female (Nat=Natalie), but no. So...good job, man? 🤯

Last night at work a customer wished me a nice long weekend. Girl, what do you think this is, a bank? You've clearly never worked in retail.

I almost threw his box away yesterday, and now he's in there WITH his favorite tunnel! Extra security, I guess lol. Silly boy. 😄
