This is one of the leaders in the US LNG industry. There is a lot of hype about the industry but financial troubles abound. This is not the sign of a healthy company. You never want this language to be describing where you work. "Untenable Capital Structure"

"Far-right totem" is an unusual branding approach for a clean energy product but I'm told Elon is a genius so he must have a plan.

For perspective, the US auto market is around 15 million units annually. US auto market is second in the world behind China. It drops off really fast after the big two. Global sales are around 90 million.

Even the EIA admits US oil production has peaked. Another interesting thing they admit is that US nat gas prices are headed up because LNG exports are outpacing supply (remember that oil has peaked, which means associated gas likely peaking as well). www.eia.gov/outlooks/steo/

We are told the world will be using a lot more LNG in 2050. We are told this by people who want to sell LNG. Asia is the big market, they say. Places like Vietnam. Pakistan. India. China. and yet....

The local community was promised prosperity with the new Shell ethane cracker in Pennsylvania. What have they actually gotten?

"In America’s shale plays, shippers regularly fail to class their waste prior to offering it for transport. Because HAZMAT Rules are based on proper classification of shipments by the shipper, this failure ripples through the transport chain, placing drivers in the dangerous position of...

Do. The. Math.

Yesterday we learned India's LNG demand was 43% lower than the 5 year avg. LNG is pricey so they choose cheaper options! Let's check in on China. Like in the US and everywhere, the Chinese gas industry wants to build more power plants. But there is a catch! "prohibitively expensive" (1/3)

"(Bloomberg) -- Indian liquefied natural gas imports are declining as milder-than-expected summer weather, coupled with high spot prices, have curbed purchases of the power plant fuel. The country’s 10-day moving average for LNG imports dipped to....about 43% lower than the 5-year average" Hmmm.

Water industry lobbyists tried to inflate the value of failing firms. Now it’s clear: bringing them into public ownership could cost close to £0. There’s support across the spectrum for public ownership. Action is a matter of political will. @cmmonwealth.bsky.social @ewanmg.bsky.social

Can we get a photo of Kilmar's tattoos so we can see the MS-13 Trump said was on his hands?

IEA is supposed to have a new report out on LNG emissions this month. In the meantime, let's remember what they say about normal pipeline methane (natural gas).

Update: "Natural gas and other fuels cannot match renewables' speed to market." "If you're talking about new nuclear, you're talking about … generating kWs in 2033-34. If you're talking about new gas, by the time you're talking about taking delivery of an H-class [turbine], it's probably 2030-31"

"Ted Brandt, Marathon Capital LLC founder and CEO, agreed that renewables would remain attractive to investors without federal incentives." Hmmm. So many online fossil fuel supporters have told me emphatically that this is not possible.

"India's coal-fired electricity generation in May fell at the fastest pace in five years, as overall power demand declined for the first time since August and renewable energy generation rose to a record high" Seem promising, but what about gas power?

I fixed the headline for accuracy since US oil is in decline. You can see it in the chart.
