Roses, redcurrant, multiflora rose, rhododendron, raspberry, lilies, blackberry, sage, oregano, Italian parsley, mint, and rhubarb, all leafing out or blooming.
More herbs, beans, and wildflower seedlings to go in in the coming weeks.

The Manitoba is the only maple with a compound leaf. Native to the prairies, its seeds hitched rides on the railcars coming east and soon colonized the sides of the tracks and from there into Montréal’s ‘empty’ lots. They almost never grow straight up, maybe because they grow on riverbanks out west.

There is a mention of Victor Orbán’s policy in Hungary as a model for this, that he wants more *Hungarian* babies, a clear nativist goal, but this article still fails to come right out and name the white supremacy goal behind this proposal.
