illegal war started by a man constitutionally ineligible to be president

Now there’s some Cheetolini ass-kissing.

Just like when we stayed out of the disastrous and illegal war in Iraq, so too must Canada stay out of this new disastrous and illegal war in Iran. Time for us to contact our MPs and let them know that we expect them to stand on the right side of history, and denounce this latest madness.

So Bibi is now running the Pentagon, essentially. It’s AIPAC’s wet dream.

Tony Perkins: "For those who say we cannot afford to support Israel, I say we cannot afford not to. If we abandon our support for Israel, we will soon discover that the account of God's blessing on America is overdrawn."

This is what gets me. We are scolded as anti-tech for being against the AI crap factories. But I’ve been excited about tech since the 90s because it expanded my horizons, connected me to people, liberated me. AI “tools” do the opposite of all that. They disconnect us from facts and each other.

Such bullshit.

I don't think I've ever felt more like burning it all down than I have while witnessing the elite project to turn Zohran Mamdani and Brad Lander into scary, incompetent monsters while turning an actual incompetent monster, Andrew Cuomo, into a merely complicated fellow who just made an oopsie.

I love all the handwringing about Zohran’s lack of experience when a 19 year-old called Big Balls has recently been made a permanent federal employee with the title Senior Advisor at the GS-15 pay grade in the General Services Administration.

here's today's post: "we need to talk about this vampiric shitweasel" — what’s happening in LA is this fucker’s fault. thanks for reading, and please sign up for my daily newsletter so you never miss a post —

“AI” is tailor-made for self-centred misanthropes who view human interaction as a drag upon their efficiency. If you think getting a gift for your kid is some sort of annoying time-suck keeping you from making more profit at your job or something, there’s something seriously wrong with you.

The pitch is never that AI will fold the laundry for us, it's always that AI will remove the good stuff from our lives. Picking a birthday present for my kid isn't a box I check, it's something I want to do, and six months later when that's the stuffy she sleeps with I get to feel good about that.

Watching a CBCNN news analysis show from a few days ago on Carney’s White House visit; one of them says about the real estate analogy ,”I think he was kind of dealing with Trump’s ego a little bit” - YA THINK?? Thanks for your keen grasp of the obvious. (Insert Lewis Black-style profanities…)

Any actually reliable and useful application for LLMs will have to start from what they *actually do*, not from what we imagine or what the Altmans and Andreessens claim. Anyone who says these types of software "thinks" is never going to get good results.

View upward at dusk in my garden. The leaves coming out are on the Manitoba maple that I’ve let grow behind my raspberry row; provides morning shade in the summer. It and the Siberian elm I’ve let grow out front by my walk are considered weed trees, but to me, a tree is a tree; we need them all.

The lack of awareness among many Quebec and Canadian consumers of how much we depend on migrant labour for agriculture allows for their scapegoating when it’s politically expedient. cultmtl.com/2025/04/buy-...

The U.S. was founded on liberal universalism in the same way the Soviet Union was founded on the universal brotherhood of the proletariat.

A good look in this at how media access and depth of coverage has been lacking in this campaign - not just PeePee’s complete ban of journalists from his plane, but in other ways as well. rachelgilmore.substack.com/p/election-d...

Frustrating read. Lots of analysis, but other than a nod to the Handmaid’s Tale, no mention of what babies they want to increase: *white* babies. This is a “We will not be replaced!” move. Or did you think Donny’s gonna hand out $5K cheques to Black families? www.thebulwark.com/p/can-donald...

so, arresting judges should be more than enough reason for complete obstruction at in the house and senate. complete obstruction. anything you can do. interrupt proceedings, deny consent, holds on nominations. everything.

one thing that Democratic politicians should take note of is that the overlap between “great political optics” and “actual morally good stuff” is really big right now

Truly evil.

April 9 is the anniversary of the execution of Dietrich Bonhoeffer and the Canadian storming of Vimy Ridge. This is my reflection on courage in an era of complicity and moral cowardice. Trump is being aided by the "great grovel" of business/political leaders. substack.com/home/post/p-...

pro tip: if your government claims to have no money for children's heathcare but will eagerly waste millions on a gaudy military parade to stroke the fragile ego of a broken-inside president, you just might live in a shithole country
