Slight problem: I can't bring out the finest ham if she's pinned me down and refusing to move

oh, they did a round-up of garden furniture a couple of weeks ago and it was all awful - either stupidly expensive, incredibly uncomfortable, or both. I did a thread about it ... I'll find it

I bought myself a vintage barometer from Etsy some time ago - have a look there. Lots of them are quite naff, but the one I bought is a rather nice mid-century white Bakelite one.

Daphne thinks a Daphne plushy toy is an excellent idea, but she is thinking more along the lines of one that a) looks like her and b) is a cat cuddleclones.com/collections/...

Nobody is going to say that to the person giving them the gift, even if they think it. Not unless they're a psychopath.

YES. My dad would be pretty happy with a big Toblerone.

My Italian brother-in-law actively likes getting socks. I bought him some Tube socks for Christmas the other year and he loved them and said he wanted more socks, so I got him some groovy Paul Smith socks last Christmas, which he was also delighted with.

now that is a SUPERB present.

I don't think anyone has said that, though. Nobody does that when they're given a gift, even if it's not something they'd have chosen themselves.
