Lives (and sometimes feels) at Wits' End and thought hard about where to put the apostrophe. How sad is that? Loves nature, growing, cooking, reading and collecting Whitby Jet on the beach.

URGENT: Water Bill in Yorkshire up 41% by 2030, despite fines for poor performance, investigations for illegal activity, and 516,386 hours of raw sewage being dumped in our rivers. YW is serving 6265M debt and paid £84.1M dividends last year. Write to your MP campaigns.sewagecampaignnetwork.org.uk

Ofwat on Thames: This Notice relates to our finding that in making dividend payments in October 2024 and March 2024 Thames Water contravened Condition P30 of its Instrument of Appointment (‘Licence’). www.ofwat.gov.uk/consultation...

A regulator that seems to exist simply to allow water companies to inflate their charges whilst allowing them to continue to break the law by polluting. Meanwhile customers and the environment suffer. Disgusting.

Why do we put up with water companies that break the law and pollute the environment, then pay their managers and investors huge amounts, courtesy of us, the bill-payers? Because we've got no choice in a monopoly system and regulators don't do their jobs! Disgusting.

Absolutely outrageous.

Surely this is completely illegal and a risk to life? Just Stop Oil activity were given significant prison sentences for much less.

You really couldn't make this up - and the Environment Agency were behind it! fishlegal.net/2024/12/04/p...

I read pieces like this and wonder why women have children with these men. If a woman violently abused a man in this way, she'd be pilloried in the media as well as sent to prison. And why are their employers colluding with these criminals? www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

It rained heavily last night and so I woke up to find my river had turned dark grey/almost black with a sheen of oil stretching along its entire surface. Road run off really looks like the next sewage scandal in the making. We are allowing a cocktail of damaging chemicals to wash into our rivers.

Express burries one small detail as it blasts Labour for handing £536 million to ‘foreign farmers’ Almost all of the aid grants that make up the £500m total quoted were given by Conservative governments www.thelondoneconomic.com/news/media/e...
