Lives (and sometimes feels) at Wits' End and thought hard about where to put the apostrophe. How sad is that? Loves nature, growing, cooking, reading and collecting Whitby Jet on the beach.

Can you please explain the nature of the challenge? Did the challenger think your wife was male? I genuinely don't understand or can imagine why she would be challenged.

I don't understand why she'd be challenged in the female changing room if she has mastectomy scars. They show that she's biologically female. Sounds extremely unlikely.

? Just Stop Oil protestors got serious prison sentences & did no lasting damage in their protests. I bet no-one will even be prosecuted for these shocking offences, despite holding placards calling for wonen to be killed. But then women are fair game, it seems.

The previous title-holder was Charlotte Hughes, who died in 1993 - so it's doubtful Ms Caterham could have planned that far ahead. Auntie Charlotte (as I knew her) would be well miffed at being supplanted.

Your current advice is as worthless as the previous lot. You know perfectly well that this is a lie, so why not correct it?

It was already the law before the Supreme Court ruling. Nothing has changed other than a long-awaited confirmation that your guidance to numerous organisations was based on ignorance. Your idiocy is now legendary.

The statues of Nelson Mandela and Millicent Fawcett were both vandalised. A peaceful freedom fighter and a woman who legally campaigned for women's rights. Not to mention placards with hate speech.

So much for Bluesky being superior to X. Such a shame as you were a hero of mine. Unfollowed now.

Perhaps some evidence might be presented to support this? I have seen some of Mr Tate's videos. I have scoured JKR's Twitter feed. There is no comparison and no hate in the latter. And Ms Rowling funds many charities, including a women's refuge. I'm pretty disgusted at you, actually.

Rape in the UK is defined as penetrative by a penis (anally, orally, vaginally). Nothing to do with an "interpretation". Thats the legal definition so only a biological male can rape.

Transwomen are men or they wouldn't be transitioning. Or do you really believe that transwomen rapists are raping biological women using female penises? Ludicrous. It's not transphobic to be truthful. Block away.

Meanwhile the taxpayer is still waiting for a National Audit Office inquiry. The "independent" (but toothless) one set up by Michael Gove found no value for money for the public funds invested and made 28 recommendations.

If this is hate speech crime activity, stopping it is good. But if it's shutting down debate that might encourage understanding between different points of view, it's censorship. Free speech is a basic right in a civilised society.

I don't think she uses the kind of abusive language you have done. Why not make your point intelligently and articulately but without insults? Your opinions will gain more respect that way, believe me.

And your comments are so civilised, of course.

The sensible approach would be to give people paying into the state pension credit for additional years over the 35. I've worked and paid NI and tax for 44 years and my partner for 50, but we just get the basic new state pension.

That's my point. It's skewed to look as though it's about the affirmation of trans rights. The case being heard is about women's rights being compromised and eroded, and the issue of biological women's safety. Why not say so?

The headline suggests it's all about trans rights when the case itself is about women's

This person wanted to be in a women's prison. Seriously? BBC News - Trans prisoner Tiffany Scott dies in jail

This is skewed reporting and poor journalism. The case is brought by the Appellant, For Women Scotland, to challenge what they believe to be the erosion of women's rights and on the basis that sex is immutable. Why not report it objectively?

Are you seriously sanctioning putting rapists and biological males in women's prisons...people like this, for example? Sexualised violence is almost always against biological women. reduxx.info/scotland-tra...

It's not obvious to anyone of sense. Why must we continue the policy of economic and social self-harm perpetrated by the last lot of idiots in government?

I was expected to get a job (any job that paid a wage) once I'd left school. I've had jobs I hated, but they all taught me valuable lessons. Some of my friends don't think their children/grandchildren should have to do anything they don't like. This quite often includes getting up in the morning...

Many (esp. young) trans people don't die via others' violence but take their own lives. Mental health is the real risk & gender identity is only one part of it. Giving the false impression that trans people are being murdered globally increases fear & makes their anxiety worse.

So now you use a woman's name as a term of abuse. And here I was thinking this was a nicer and more civilised space.

And just when you think you've moved to a place where there might be open discussion, genuine exchange of views, and tolerance. No chance. What happened to 'I disagree with what you say but will defend to the death your right to say it'?

It isn't a problem so it doesn't need solving. Women feel safe and comfortable taking their clothes off in a women's changing room. Simple as that. And there is no legal requirement (or economy viability) to install cubicles in every changing room in the UK.

I have friends who vote in a way that I find abhorrent. I try to explain to them why we disagree, and I stick with them to try to get them to see the error of their ways. If I dump them in disgust, I'll never convince them, and I'll have been an arrogant fool.

What an unkind and dismissive response. Definitely worthy of X but not what I expected on this place. But you've achieved your aim in shutting down any civilised discussion.

Your local sports centre is the exception. The only cubicles in those local to me are for toilets.

Yup, I agree that reasoned debate is impossible - you've only got to look at the responses I got. It's a shame that we can't even discuss something without being accused of bias or being told to go. Without communication, there can be no understanding.
comment in response to

Free speech means being able to debate any issue. You've just told me that I "don't get to" do that. And you’ve called me biased when all I expressed was a desire to discuss the concerns I have. So you’ve proved my point.
comment in response to

I'm afraid civilised/reasonable debate on this subject is impossible. Asking questions/raising issues of concern means being labelled a 'transphobe', sadly. I have concerns about women's sport and safe spaces too. But if you try to talk about it, you'll be shouted down, often aggressively.

We call them toilets in the UK. I can't understand why they'd be 'bathrooms' when there's no bath, or 'restrooms' with no beds. Either way, there's no reason why they should be segregated - just have cubicles and no urinals. Then we can all stand in the queue and suffer together.

And why are those responsible not prosecuted and sent to prison? A few high-profile water company executives enjoying the amenities of Armley jail might focus the minds of others. Not to mention fines personally levied on those people and not paid by their customers.
