His very first year in office, he cut $1 billion from our public education system. We, as the city, continued to fight for it back until we had to take him to court. We won. But he still would not comply. He refused to repay the foundation aid that was owed to us.

He has hurt our city in more ways than you can count. Every budget our city legislators have had to fight for the lives of our constituents against his bad policy decisions. Many times we couldn’t win. He has cut public education, social services, healthcare, transportation.

Not only not concerned but screaming with glee? The TV is muted every time that ad comes on. Literally why.

Additionally getting bombed into oblivion usually has a pretty negative impact on being alive, a necessary precondition to a lot of other stuff

I have said it a lot but I haven’t said it well. But I believe the story of Trump’s election is that the first run tested the strength of the Republican gerrymandering scheme. When it held, his second term is about the strength of their judicial scheme.

People think I’m just against 501c3s or electoral politics or this candidate or that candidate when I’m just saying that we are not prepared for the sheer volume of sustained civic disobedience it will take to right the ship.

Don't come for me I'm not a WWI expert and I know the "causes" of the damn thing are still contested 100+ years later

This one looks like it's rolling out store or distro center by location so yes? So far just the distribution center.

If your store isn't yet on strike then stocking up on staples as space and budget allows is 👍 Also the last strike was 11 days, which is obviously not a guarantee that future ones will be, but can be a helpful rule of thumb for planning. Longer, planning/coordinating with neighbors prob necessary.

It's a good question! Some of it is always going to be dependent on your specific circumstances and needs, which obviously I don't know and you certainly are not obliged to share. First, I am a big fan of pantry and freezer stockpiling just for budget reasons and that's where I would start.

Don't cross that line if/when the strike grows.

part of the reason people don't want the history of this period taught or understood is to make this illegible to people. it's easy to swallow thought ending cliches about which venerated figure was a "man of their times" if you remain studiously unaware of what their times actually were
