Which is to say, Democrats seem to think they're doomed and are fulfilling that prophecy in erratic and stupid ways. When in reality, they lost an arguably hopeless race in a way that would've required in 2023 the sitting POTUS and VP to step aside for, IDK, Beshear or Whitmer.

They were ~8,000 votes away from winning the House and about 275k votes away from a Harris EC victory. The question is whether they want to remain electorally viable or become more viable. And the leadership and a lot of congressional members seem to say, "Nah."
