Have a fab Bank Holiday w/end!

Austerity since 2010 & Brexit have devastated UK living standards. The result? Malnutrition in children & adults, soaring food bank use, & long-term harm to families. We’re paying the price for political choices that prioritised cuts over care.

A positive 1st step. 🤞🏻Here’s hoping for more steps that will lead to rejoining the EU

It was 51% of those who voted for Brexit that caused the problem. 49% voted against. If more of the voting population had actually voted, maybe things would’ve been different. But we’ll never know.

You don’t. Brexit was a mammoth disaster that those who voted for it only realised in hindsight - which, as we know, is 20-20

It’s not just children that suffer.

I agree, it was the lies of political leaders selling Brexit that did the damage. But without Brexit as the vehicle, those lies wouldn’t have had such a devastating effect. The promises made around Brexit (like NHS funding) were central to persuading voters, so I’d argue they’re tightly linked.

Brexit may not have anything to do with the NHS directly. The lies fed to the public about money that would go into the NHS persuaded many to vote leave. The cost to economy, rising costs, tax cuts, public spending cuts & austerity all added to the decline of the NHS.

#Brexit affected everything in the UK. It’s no surprise that it hit the NHS hard. Biggest Brexit lie ever!

I’m sure it can, but it’s not me you have to convince but those who lead & influence fashion & clothing design

The masses will continue to follow fashion trends unless presented with a viable alternative that clearly benefits them.

Speaking as an NHS worker of almost 16 years: I don’t believe any party will save the NHS without real public pressure. Politicians follow where people push them. The future of the NHS depends on us, not on trusting those in power.

Every party pushes its agenda, but public complacency & relying on social media for news blurs the truth. If we want to keep the NHS public & improve it, we need more than votes—we need active, informed pressure from the people it serves.

Scepticism is key-Streeting’s praise of private providers & ties to donors are worrying. Scrapping NHS England must come with real safeguards. Public ownership & transparency need to be non-negotiable. We can’t let backroom deals gut the NHS any further.

Tories sold off assets; Major brought in PFI. Blair opened NHS doors to private firms. Now Starmer plans to scrap NHS England—a step toward reversing the damage. But real change needs action, not talk. Privatisation has failed us before, and vigilance is key to protecting the NHS.

I don’t expect miracles. The private sector has dug its claws into the NHS & broken it. Regardless of political affiliation, it will take years to dig them out, if at all. Nevermind the time it will take to put the NHS back together in a way that the public accepts

This isn’t news. It’s been a solid fact since the Coalition & then the Tories were in govt. The pandemic helped the decline. It’ll take more than a year for Labour (or any govt) to make a noticeable difference.

I’ve never actually paid any attention to how I eat a chocolate digestive. Just super lucky if I actually find one in our biscuit tin!

I’ve actually hadn’t noticed how much I’d cut back on #TikTok until I watched a couple of vids from my follow list. It was almost like catching up with an acquaintance. Almost. As for the #Depression… it ebbs & flows. #EnoughSaid
