As an alum, I've been deeply impressed by Harvard's handling of the White House attacks. On Wednesday, the university filed an emergency TRO motion in federal court to stop the targeted "national security" visa ban on Harvard's international students, and last night it was granted. 1/2

Garfield is starting the weekend with a nice nap.

This is both chef's kiss and horrifying. Any guess as to the man's ethnicity?

Twitter's new encrypted DMs aren't better than the old ones @mjg59.eicar-test-file.zip: “Twitter can simply give you a public key where they control the private key, decrypt the msg, then reencrypt it w/ the intended recipient's key & pass it on… Signal doesn't have these shortcomings. Use Signal.”

What an extraordinary, beautiful thing. Sometimes the only sensible response to scientific discovery is wonderment and awe.

“Microsoft's $455 million investment in 2023, including plans to integrate Builder.ai's technology with Azure, now stands as a cautionary tale.”

🚨WOW. It turns out that a "Tren de Aragua gathering" the Trump admin said it broke up in March ... was just a BIRTHDAY PARTY. None of the people arrested at the party seem to have any criminal record — and none have been charged criminally in the months since it happened. Read the story below.

It's like putting a toddler in full charge of the National Endowment, and while a grant review committee earnestly debates supporting an Alvin Aliey dance troup proposal, the toddler is over in the corner eating chicken nuggets & gnawing crayons.

“We are recruiting and supporting candidates (including ex-Republicans) who can expand the map” Maybe be less terrible?

Maybe Homeland Security is onto something with rounding up members of gangs based on their specific tattoo insignia.

Garfield says hello.

Can you imagine intentionally ensuring your & your child's name forever coming up in search results for having invested so much time and energy into hate like this.

Just the tip of the iceberg from this roll-your-own security protocol. We're about to usher in a golden age of Valhalla-level AI pwnage, and it'll be riding on the coattails of badly designed agents. invariantlabs.ai/blog/mcp-git...

Alex Palou from Barcelona wins the Indy 500. First Spaniard in history to win the race, top speeds >264 mph.

“It appeared the Careto hackers were interested in Cuba because during that time there were members of the Basque terrorist organization ETA in the country.” techcrunch.com/2025/05/23/m...

NEW: More than a decade ago, Kaspersky discovered a mysterious "elite" hacking group it called Careto (aka “The Mask”), which then vanished and only resurfaced last year. We can now reveal that the researchers who investigated it were confident that the Spanish government was behind it.

On first read I though maybe he was sharing this in disgust on his rage-quit way out the door. But no, this non-deterministic flip-a-coin trainwreck apparently is really a thing. That they're… bragging about. WTF

I'll say it again, it's a bad decision to wage a meritless existential attack on one of the most powerful universities in the world, with a $55B endowment and an alumni network that includes 127 sitting members on the federal bench.

BREAKING: Judge Burroughs grants Harvard's request for a temporary restraining order, barring the Trump administration from revoking the university’s student exchange certification. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

Microsoft made it so that their AI chatbot can submit pull requests to any code project, and then sent it loose on the dotnet run time. It's going just about as well as you can expect github.com/dotnet/runti...

Goddammit these ghouls

We're ready for Microsoft Recall and the automatic screenshots it takes of everything on your desktop. Signal Desktop on Windows now includes support for a new "Screen security" feature designed to block screenshots of your Signal chats. signal.org/blog/signal-...

I love that @signal.org is using Microsoft's own DRM copyright API to block Windows from its own stupid new "feature" which takes screenshots of, well, everything and saves them. It's like an intellectual property Jedi mind trick.

I know this is a long shot, statistical freak, unicorn, whatever you want to call it story, but I can't help feeling a tiny bit schadenfreude for the 5 Shark Tank investors who passed on a $400K/25% stake in a small mom & pop soda company. Pepsi just bought it for $2,000,000,000.

I'm an advisor to this startup, whose product is a trust & safety-minded E2EE messenger (two great tastes that taste great together). Having E2EE for Bluesky DMs is hella good - this is very exciting!
