Thanks! Yep. "Snowy and dark" describes more than half of some years here. And then for more than three months, it gets bright so early that it messes with my sleep. It will be nice to be further south!

Me, too! It’s amazing the cognitive dissonance we’re capable of! Each day the world offers new horrendous developments that make the future more uncertain. Meanwhile, I believe with all my soul that this move, both homecoming & fresh start, will let me completely change my life for the better.

I’ve heard the odd episode of other podcasts that explores a story that involves type but I haven’t looked for a podcast that stays down that rabbit hole.

Thanks! I've been working at this for a while — I'm still assembling collages I shot from 2006 to 2015! Five years ago I dropped the aesthetic goal of making them look like a single photo, saving myself hours of Photoshop wankery for better documentary results. If interested flic.kr/s/aHsiU6yhB4

My orange cat was guileless, which could be interpreted as being simple. Toby was not dumber than other cats, but those who equate cat intelligence with sneakiness might underestimate him.

This is my earliest photo of the Saigon Flower. I'd eaten there many times since the 80s, when I first moved near this intersection. This is a few years before boutique renos of nearby Drake and Gladstone hotels. #documentaryphotography 1138 & 1136 Queen St W, December 2001

A few months ago, I posted a 2015 shot and one from 2007 when this address was a compact drive-thru car wash (quoted). I loved this liminal phase when the facade was street art: 1108-1106 Queen St W, May 2009 #photography #documentaryphotography #slowart

Meta/Facebook has always been about making people feel comfortable doing things online that maybe they shouldn't, and finding ways to leverage this for the company's ends. They never lost their grip on what Meta does. They simply care more about monetizing the machine than controlling it.

We don't get to see the portrait because Tinkle is 150 years old, and the painting ages in place of her.

Better than leaving a half-empty glass there.
