That’s the kind of choice they’ll have to make every time they’re sent out like this.
And the goal should NOT by to push them toward protecting the Nazis, by coming off as bigger assholes.
We need them to question their orders, not to embrace them.

A lot of people who spend time at the range end up with hearing damage, and silencers could help prevent a lot of it.
But this isn’t for those people-it’s for the gun industry, who wants to sell more toys.

(I’m assuming you’re NOT in favor of law enforcement by military or paramilitary forces either, so those historical options aren’t the way to go)

*mob rule

At no point in the history of law, though, has “zero law enforcement” been a successful option.
And amateur law enforcement is just lob rule.
So what solution are you looking at?

You lost me at “worse than slave patrols.”

I can't think of a bad book written by Moore, but some are better than others, and some are more literary in nature than others.
But if you want a segue after Lamb, "Practical Demonkeeping" is probably a good one to go for, because there's a connection.

The twisted heart of the pro-life movement is the idea of "Life At Conception."
It needs to have a stake driven through it, because it makes people think of human babies when all that exist are minuscule or even microscopic clumps of unthinking cells.

Both are excellent!!
Are those the only Moore you’ve read so far?

How do we move from armchair quarterbacking to a grassroots response that ushers republicans out of power.

Yup.
Either “bad” in the quality sense,
Or in the moral sense,
Or both.

People seem to simultaneously believe “police came from slave patrols” and also “police are a modern invention that is worse than what came before it.”
Which doesn’t add up, but people tend to follow whatever makes them feel good more than whatever makes sense.

“Police” didn’t exist when the nation was founded, but law enforcement did.
I don’t think pining for the days of sheriffs & posses, watches, and militias enforcing the law is the way to go.

Wrap yourselves in an American flag and be 100% nonviolent so they have zero reason to use military force. The optics will also look bad for them in media coverage. Kick out any OPs starting trouble; remember umbrella dude at the BLM protests. Discipline! 2/2

Youtube search results don't even show good livestream options anymore.
So I'm jumping on here to ask if anyone knows any good places to find the boots on the ground journalists. The ones who may not have attended college, but are doing a damn good job reporting whats happening

Anybody who talks about “real writing” that way is an idiot.

Hm.
Well, what do YOU think everybody is talking about?
And who is “everybody” in this case…?

I do, but I don’t know why you’re bringing them into the conversation.

Again, no idea what you’re trying to say.
My claim was that most people saying “defund the police” did NOT mean “take all their money.”
The sheer volume of memes and other explanations along the same lines supports my claim.
Seems pretty simple.

No idea what you’re talking about there.

If you didn’t see a million memes like this being shared, that’s on you.
If you want to play catch-up, just do a google image search for “what does define the police mean.”

A slogan that spawned countless “we’re not saying take ALL the police’s money” memes like the one attached,
And that still has people saying that it meant “takes all the police’s money,”
Is NOT a good slogan.

A slogan that a large chunk of the movement dislikes and disagrees with is not a good slogan.
A slogan that alienates more potential concerts than it attracts is not a good slogan.
A slogan that needs a lengthy explanation to overcome people’s initial repulsion to the words used, is a bad slogan.

The part where some people claim “defund the police” means “take all their money” and some mean “reduce their money.”
I mean, it’s clear to me that people disagree about what the slogan mean… that’s my point.

The doomerism is even worse than you think,
And will ultimately destroy humanity.
