Apt.

Haha, as an Aussie I read his 2 weeks as "I'm going to ignore it and hope people stop asking me about it." He's got a bit of track record at this point!

More of this should be illegal, and then actually punished.

It's remarkable how consistently brutal his takes down are. It's like watching a master craftsman.

I noticed there was an assumption that research isn't done on "old wives tales/ traditional remedies" because the medical establishment generally ignores women (both in research and actually listening to them). Kernels of truth unfortunately do help to spread misinformation and skepticism.

Absolutely delusional thinking. Hobart does not have the population for a "world class stadium", and it won't bring in enough tourism to justify the spend.

Decisions like this shouldn't be based on what people feel they "deserve". It should be based on whether the cost to build it is worth it based on the amount of use it will receive. It needs to show ROI, otherwise it is a waste of taxpayer money that could pay for better services.

That's amazing!

As an outsider, there should be more coordination. So when the guard are deployed, the protesters stay home and others take to the streets in another city. Wait for his goons to be on their way and repeat. Be like whack a mole.

They've become so emboldened.

I don't know why we criticise RFK when our own response, in relation to child vaccine access is so terrible. No one pulls Butler up on this. No one.

In Australia under 5s have never been able to be vaccinated (unless quite at risk). Over 5s have never been eligible for boosters. For at least a year over 5s have not been able to be vaccinated either. He obviously only reads US news, but importantly, our own health minister is anti vax!

I'm trying to spread out my viewing to savour every moment. On episode 2 and absolutely loving it. Actually laughed out loud several times too. So nice to watch a comedy that is actually funny.

Oh, he said it was old fashioned! Right! I have been so confused. Thankyou!

What do you call it if not groceries? Here in 🦘 that is what we call it when we go shopping for food and household things like laundry powder, toilet paper etc. Obviously it's considered old fashioned in the states but what do you say instead?

"neither has the skills necessary to live independently" 🤣🤣🤣 so true

"They're giving us money for batteries" is the reason I was given. I didn't know how to respond to that then, and I still don't.

I think there are a few. It could have a massive impact. It's not great they're in hospitals eating plastic of things you want to keep sterile, but agree, great for after!

My OH, a LNP voter for 20+ years chatted to Tim Wilson at the dog park one day (our dogs were friends) not knowing who he was, & says to me after, that guy was so weird & awkward. I told him who he was & he hasn't voted for LNP since! Every politician I've met was incapable of normal conversation.

I just saw this and my first thought was that maybe by the time my 4yo is an old man, we'll be done with all this B.S. I was really not expecting to witness a new dark ages, I can now only hope it doesn't go on for too long.
comment in response to post
We tried to watch some free to air tv for the first time in my 4yo's life and the tantrums when adverts interrupted the show were so extreme and ridiculous that I wondered how we'd all survived the dark ages of life before streaming. He was so indignant 🤣

As an middle aged Australian, I'm always surprised by how many "Australian phrases" I've never heard before. Just admit your family is weird and watched Crocodile dundee like it was a documentary, and the rest of us will carry on talking like normal people.

Mandating AI orgs to put in place protocols that work to ensure the AI is not encouraging suicide or any type of harm would be a good step. Adding reminders that it's not a doctor, and pushing consumers to make appointments etc would also be worth trying.
comment in response to post
People should approach AI outputs critically, but pretending they're not already pretty useful in a lot of cases isn't it.
comment in response to post
For doubters, AI "empathy" is often measured through user perception of AI emotional intelligence. So it's not about whether it's real, it's about how the person feels about it. To be fair, demonstrating higher consideration than many doctors is a low bar, so I get why many feel threatened!

I find it so odd that rural Australians complain (rightfully) about lack of services, then vote for the same person who didn't do anything to fix it again and again and again. Rural seats should change all the time till someone actually delivers, instead they give these grifters decades to do f.a.

I have had to mute a lot of words.

This was really interesting. You are probably not familiar with Australian politics but this is kinda what Climate 200 backed "teals" did in Australia, particularly in our 2022 federal election, but the trend continued in the 2025 too (still counting all results).
comment in response to post
No, I haven't found they do either. It really sucks.
comment in response to post
I'm really sorry to hear they're doing this. I would simply respond saying "this is very hurtful", then disengage. You don't need to stay in contact with people who choose to be cruel to you.
comment in response to post
Seems a bit optimistic given the current trajectory 😭
comment in response to post
The result is the same. They should be hounded every day for the role they have played.
comment in response to post
Because they will not let me vaccinate my kids against covid. I have a 2020 kid who won't be eligible for vaccination till he is 18! because they won't approve it's use.
comment in response to post
Probably doesn't help that Butler and ATAGI are anti-vaxxers. I see so much reporting about RFK and how he'll stop childhood vaccines, but in Australia our kids can't get covid vaccines, or boosters and they get away with it!

Do you know if Australia is doing much to court academics and scientists to come here? I guess it would take a significant amount of investment.
comment in response to post
I liked all that about it too, and am glad Australia went that route. I'm generally less interested in the more serious acts, or god forbid, ballads 😂

Staging and performance was great but he's not a very strong singer, and the song was a bit ordinary. It's a shame, I was excited by the whole look, and love that Australia put in something so out there.

Good question in light of timmy's comments.

I was wondering this the other day, is there a way of quickly seeing the informal vote rate per electorate? I'm thinking colour coded map.

Despite being a liberal, I really feel for him. As far as I'm concerned he did the right thing and I'd donate to his go fund me so he's not kicked out because of that woman.

What about Timmy encouraging scrutineers to toss out votes?

I don't have that book, but does she recommend to use dried mushrooms in it? I wonder if she'll be called to testify? 😉

Will probably be the only time he's right about anything.

It really depends on how it's implemented. If the government follows its own standards (e.g human-in-the-loop processes) it should be helpful for simple cases, freeing up humans to handle the complex cases and exceptions.
