If the three candidates of your heart all go out early, then putting Lander and Mamdani in the cleanup positions is HUGE. (This is where people are citing the Garcia example from 21.) But tbh if those two are eliminated, your #5 vote isn’t going to flow to Tilson, who’ll already be out.

So he did interview prep ('stuff a New Yorker should know') but didn't care enough to learn his lines

The church should have a qualification stage, to weed out the “crusades and inquisitions” fanboys who drive a little too much conversion traffic.

New Yorker readers would be a great audience to hear about a deep slate of good options! Zohran, Brad Lander, but also Zellnor, AAdams, Ramos - this is not a race between the two Trump-leaning candidates!

Is it? it's definitely exploded the past couple of weeks - is the penciled initials an AI nod to signatures?

Agreed: if 300 million people use it to mean a political and social leftwing position, that isn't subordinate to some countries having it as a name for their centrist party.

I mean Latin Americans can be Spanish, German, black, Jewish, Chinese - nobody here is thinking Brazilians are Maori. USians have no exposure to Maori people outside the movies.

Absolutely. Totally agree that everyone should team up on good apples! I'm just saying if last time I'd led with Garcia, it served nobody to put Paperboy in 5 - you just had to have Not-Yang and Not-Adams anywhere.

But your closers have to be "viable" (or likely or whatever) candidates. If you lead with your faves but fill the back end with long shots, those candidates will already have been eliminated before your ballot gets to them. No different from leaving blank.

Mostly POC of course. But also: where is Espaillat, who represents the 13th? A former green card holder himself, his official statement was so neutral as to be barely perceptible.

I tried to pitch PG Wodehouse as a classic writer, was shot down, subjected my teacher to WOZZECK instead and I hope he still regrets it.

Obviously this will never happen but a one-time $5k won't get a household far, when clean water is coming from private companies not the government, and all their benefits are canceled.
