Based on what I've learned from anime, high school is an extremely eventful time for Japanese teenagers. Also, the budget for rebuilding those schools must be massive.

I have some aluminum truck grab handles installed in my attic to help climb up and down. I checked the surface temp on those bad boys, and they read at 136°F. They hurt my hand to grab onto.
