That convention is never applied like this.

Impossible domestication is a great feeling.

I love how different people's tastes can be. I struggled through the first movie. The hints at mythos are the only reason I started the second one and that lore development kept me interested.

Haha that last part sounds about right. My tortie is made of chaos. She can't sit still to just receive pets. She always wants to wrastle.

Your tortie must be broken. Mine would never be suspected of helping with anything.

So you're a hard outliner. I need to figure out how to commit to this so thoroughly.

To be fair, pouring it over ice just isn't as good as letting hot tea cool in the fridge, or cold brew. Give your brain the benefit of the doubt. You wanted a way to quickly make tea cold without sacrificing flavor, and that doesn't really exist.

I saw someone (wish I could remember, to credit source) say last year a great pithy dig:
AI is supposed to help creative people complete tedious tasks, but it's mostly being used to help tedious people complete creative tasks.

I'm just hoping that this Romantasy Era keeps moving society at large away from the idea that fantasy is for kids (or adults being childish). Sucks that it's detracting from SciFi but that's temporary. I hope

Just lean into it. Ugly cakes can be funny. Just matters that they taste good.

But you can bake cakes, which is more than most young people today.

Lol then what's the point of writing?

That was the first piece of writing advice I read, so it's been a while, but I've always understood the phrase to mean the opposite. Don't *keep* something just because you love it, when you know it doesn't support/improve/serve the story.

And about 500k Mexican Americans fought in WWII. Many were first generation children of immigrants. They were absolutely American.

This. Almost certainly he's been promised rights to build resorts on the best Palestinian land. All those Palestinian refugees still carrying their keys from decades ago. How many of their homes even still exist. So effed up.

I love how nobody actually posts vague things about publishing news. They just use the word 'vague'. Cracks me up.

While I agree they're causing harm by framing it as debatable, they're technically right. Qatar's offer raises questions. Trump accepting is the flatly unconstitutional part.

I see this so much in the gaming community! Longtime players talk about how much time they've invested in the game, and the grind, and act like they're owed more free content. I'm like... Y'all know you can stop playing right? You aren't an employee. If you're not having fun, stop.

In our system, increased efficiency will always overwhelmingly benefit the capital owners. A machine that lets one employee do the work of two will always get that second employee fired.

I don't... Why would they be to use AI for that? Haven't cons been choosing programming via largely volunteer committees for decades?

I agree. Nobody is entitled to a psychological comfort zone that requires 'inconvenient' people to hide like cockroaches. Conservatives: grow the fuck up. The fact that different people make you uncomfortable isn't their problem.

I think they just think the world was better off in a time when they weren't forced to recognize and think about the existence of sick/disabled people, ethnic minorities, homeless people, mental illness, LGBTQ+, etc.

I'm always a little horrified with the popular gourmet steak preparation, basted in herb butter in the cast iron. Steak is already fatty, and butter is a strong flavor. I just want s&p and steak flavor on my steak. Maybe a little onion/garlic powder, or chili flakes, if I'm feeling adventurous.

Yeah, you're right, nobody will pay for that. The only paying customers will be movie studios or indie filmmakers. But the market of visual entertainment is already so oversaturated. Nobody will watch AI films when they're already not watching real ones. It's just wild.

I see these companies doing these things but I don't understand the critical market question: who wants this? Who are AO generated videos for? What is the use case?
