Exactly. I’m hoping they’ll have a white or titanium version soon 😀

The answer is no.

Would 123 work for numbers? Feels natural next to ABC.

This was my one glimpse of hope that Americans might finally not have to pay TurboTax for something that should be free and government-provided, just like it is in other countries.

Easily the most inspiring NYT reporting these days.

Definitely makes sense to have better consistency on your machine 👍 How much effort did it take to get a good shot? Did you have a lot of experience?

From this article, it looks like they started with WALK and WAIT, but it's not clear why they switched to DONT WALK, though it is a more descriptive (and possibly safer) command. www.fhwa.dot.gov/infrastructu...

What's truly shocking is how far he was able to go before meaningfully damaging the brand.

I worry about too many people staying silent. Small silences add up, and then it’s too late.

Yeah it could be less boxy for sure. There is something that I really like about this design though, it just feels a bit too faux-retro. Re: EV6, it looks great from the side! I do find the pinched front fascia a bit weird.

“Don’t Look Up” was a documentary, but not because of the meteorite.

Out of moves? I think you're forgetting the upcoming Tesla Roadster with its 600-mile range, 0-60mph in 0.1 seconds, seating for 10, and anti-gravity hover mode that's definitely coming next year!

You think a thin long screen won’t help? The left and right edge of my digital cluster are hidden by the wheel and that’s annoying. Older Renaults like the Twingo had a thing digital speedometer and it wasn’t bad, although a bit close to the center probably.

Now that’s the thread I was looking for! My assumption is that critical information like speed and navigation can live in a HUD, and *some* secondary info from digital clusters could move up there, but it’s a slippery slope and their prototype doesn’t show the necessary restraint at all.

This long screen close to the windshield is not a bad idea to bring key information closer to the driver’s eyes. I’m worried about the potential for visual clutter though. cc @casperkessels.com

Actually, if you increased the button sizes, reduced the status bar height slightly (if possible), and showed additional climate controls contextually (behind a button that would expand when you’re likely to need it), you would have more space to view your map, and browse music. Bad idea? 🤔

Yeah you’re right. I wondered if keeping heated seats visible at all times on such a small screen made sense, but this could be frustrating. Looking at Polestar/Volvo, their infotainment feels easier to use just because it has bigger buttons and more spacing overall.

Good point, and agreed. Also not sure all this info is needed at all times (e.g. status bar), and they could also have kept some physical controls for climate.

Tell us more! This is the UI of the new Renault 5. Contrast is definitely better, but the buttons look quite small, and the navigation feels heavy.

To be fair, “the product experience remains really bad” doesn’t apply just to Gemini.

Sorry to hear! Have you tried immunotherapy (drops) by any chance? My allergy is less severe but it has definitely helped!
