For GamesIndustry.biz, I looked into why there are so few indie games at the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2. The indie developers and publishers I spoke to said they currently don’t have Switch 2 development kits - and they have no idea when they’ll get them. www.gamesindustry.biz/where-are-th...

I wrote the essay and did the interview for this release. What larks!

Indie developers and publishers discuss the current availability of Nintendo Switch 2 dev kits – and how the situation compares to the original Switch www.gamesindustry.biz/where-are-th...

Ha! I did not know this was a thing!

The Hives just casually releasing one of their best ever songs in the year 2025. That tempo change in the chorus, though. 🤌

Sharing this for the simple reason that it's worth knowing about. This will kill parts of the internet you dislike, but it will kill a much larger part that you probably value.

I had a chat with Digital Eclipse about Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection - as well as their dream wishlist games, including a collection of SEGA Saturn fighters.

If you haven't had the pleasure of sampling @apwot.bsky.social until now, you're in luck. The first three issues of A Profound Waste of Time are being reprinted - hop on the Kickstarter while there's still time and treat yourself to something lovely. amostagreeablepastime.com/2025/06/17/t...

With both Summer Game Fest 2025 and Steam Next Fest wrapping up, each member of the GamesIndustry.biz team suddenly has many more games clogging up their wishlists than ever www.gamesindustry.biz/from-ball-x-...

Indies! Why isn’t your game on Switch 2? I genuinely want to know - it’s for an article :)

I’m very tempted to get myself one of these - although it depends on the price. Will the cheaper version come in at under £500? That’s the sweet spot, I think.

BIG NEWS, EVERYONE! From Monday 16th June I will be Features Editor for GamesIndustry.biz - something that I am thoroughly excited about. After 12 years of freelancing, it's a big change for me, but I can't wait to work with @samuelwroberts.bsky.social on the site. Expect glorious things.

Gah. This horrorshow situation makes my blood boil. Pay the authors what they’re owed!

What Lewis said. I did (light) edits on this book and he did a tremendous job, as did Eliza with the design, and TCR gave us amazing access *and* assets. If you liked SWTD, this is the definitive story of how it came to be.

Given the news about the lovely DLC coming next week for Still Wakes the Deep, here's a reminder that I literally wrote the book about this game - and it's due out on 31 July. It's much more than an art book - there's loads of interviews in there, including one with Alec Newman. It's COMPREHENSIVE.

Also in this issue, I spoke to the lovely Shuhei Yoshida about the making of Ape Escape - which was one of the first projects he worked on at PlayStation, and one he has particularly fond memories of. Plus, he told me about playing on the SNES PlayStation...

Oooh, this sounds good. And it's only £28.99 - definitely worth a punt at that price :) UPDATE: And it's on Game Pass, too! Man, good games are just being hurled at us one after the other these days, huh? If only I had more time to play them...

Still Wakes the Deep DLC alert!!!!! Such a lovely, unexpected treat to have this!
