This one stung a little. I was still topping up my Skype credit from time to time to make international calls — and I still use "Skype" as a verb for video calling 😅

For comparison, here's detail from a photo I shot on Kodak Ektar, which is advertised as having the sharpest grain in the world. You can see plenty of grain. The shadows are rather grey, not black. The greens are softer.

If it were film, I would expect: more grain; nicer reds, yellows, and greens; lower contrast; and either more or less depth of field.
But it's mainly the sharpness and digital noise.

Recently switched back to a 4th gen iPod! I use a remarkable tablet for reading, writing, drawing, and coding. Photos on 35mm camera.
I tried a Nokia dumbphone a couple years ago but the quality was way way too low to be usable.

Phew thanks for saying that out loud. I was feeling that for sure. Sending love.

Tools I’ve used:
An old Windows 7 laptop to reformat the iPod.
Rockbox OS to use the iPod as a basic digital audio player (gapless, lossless).
Yate to tag and organize music on my Mac.
FreeFileSync to sync music to iPod.
A text editor to write the logic for the smart playlists.

In fairness that scene does kind of have the vibe of a guy who is about to start free-styling to himself in the mirror.

There's a lot of talk about a new "two-party" dynamic in Canada. This seems like a major blow to Canadian democracy. Do you think this is due to actors pushing for a more American-style political landscape? Or more likely a natural tendency for voters to align in a crisis?
