Farage anecdote starts about minute 23, the meat at 24

Splitting Reform and pushing Farage for clarity inre. remigration, who's British, etc, rather than dog-whistling ambiguity = a good thing?

Found any evidence that FDR sent Roper to that convention in 1939 to speak in favor of Nazism, yet?
I'm genuinely interested in learning more about American history on this issue

Trump seems to have been asleep during the whole Cold War - did he not see Rambo 2?
comment in response to

All I can find is a reference to a relative of Roper, whose association with the Bund was supporting anti-Nazi German Americans
But always happy to be educated if you have evidence Roper spoke in favor of Nazism, and with FDR's encouragement

I'm not an idiot, I'm *ignorant*, so educate me (and others) with a citation, as there's nothing on Roper's Wikipedia page about this

Did FDR attend or send his best wishes?
No
Meanwhile, in 1939 Stalin was still firmly on Hitler's side, as he would be until mid-41
What's more, after the war Stalin kept half of Europe for the Russian empire, which only dissolved in the 90s and Putin is currently trying to re-establish

That's why I find fiction audiobooks unsatisfying, but nonfiction works really well with just one voice

So much time is taken up with tasks that leave the mind free for something else - cooking, cleaning, shopping, exercising etc - audio means I get to listen to a book or two a week
Of course, the idea that anyone on *radio* would criticize learning by listening is an odd one

"No, tell us more about how you know Trump is a pedophile rapist, and what the implications of that are with regard to protecting women and children"
I guess Musk is back to not caring about child rape
comment in response to

But then that would require the "elite media" to care about rich men raping women and children, rather dismissing it as just the way of the world
comment in response to

Can Musk ever be interviewed again without being asked what he meant by that Trump / Epstein post?
And of course, Trump & Co should be asked about it, too

Even more so than anyone openly LGBTQ+, isn't almost everyone in the US only one degree or two of separation from someone who's undocumented?

Did you book an indefinite time off work in order to protest / organize, and will you be putting off all work and leisure activities until the situation is resolved to your liking?

Go and sow more false hope among expats with your lies / misinfo about Schengen exemptions, Andrew

You're an interesting case

And why is pointing out the UK is demonstrably less free than many EU nations a "weak argument", when your claim seemed to be it was "a free society"?
comment in response to

Everything's digital, but I'm talking about a physical ID card
Is the claim no form of ID is needed in the UK for access to any public services?
Seems unlikely
comment in response to

What freedoms and rights do people in EU nations with ID cards lack compared to people in the UK?
UK didn't even allow hardcore porn until recently, and weed is still illegal!
