So I'm debugging some code in Unity .. I check meshRenderer.sharedMaterial == null, and this is true Then I check meshRenderer.sharedMaterial , and it's the standard diffuse channel. And now my previous statement becomes false 🤔

Every time I work on Chisel (my open source Unity CSG level editor) I run into new bugs Unity introduced to foundational functionality that used to work fine before. It's exhausting to debug and a timesink for a side project. Now it turns out that Mesh.Optimize() breaks when you have >1 submeshes 😔
